Please don't do a 1200 calorie diet. Yes you will lose weight on it, but can you stick to it the rest of your lifetime? Because guess what will happen when you reach your goal and start eating above 1200. Also why eat 1200 when you can eat more and lose? I follow tdee-20% and am currently eating 1850 and losing steadily. I…

No. I weigh 170 and eat 1800 (tdee-20%) and losing 1-2lbs a week. As I decrease the number decreases. I started out at 2200. I can't see your diary OP but are you being honest with your calories? Counting everything? Weighing everything? Don't worry about the rest 20% junk food. As long as you're under calories, it doesn't…

Thanks guys. My main q's is does a high fat diet help in weight loss as long as I remain under calories? Or will it be slow?

Same here, I've always had problem with protein so reaching my protein goal at least by 100g is my first priority of the day but I've noticed that as I try to reach that macro, fat creeps up pretty fast. I eat chicken breast/salmon/protein drink - no milk products for me as my breastfed baby is milk intolerant.

Lol loved your write up. Way to go woman!!

Glad I saw this topic, I just got on the site to ask a q's abt the same. My knees started this crunching sound since 3 days. I'm on week 6 of T25 and just started Beta (pretty intense jumping, squatting etc). The crunching is only when I bend knees to sit down and is slightly uncomfortable. My breastfed son is milk…

Good for you OP! I started out at 2200 calories too. But hit a plateau at 2 months. I decreased my calorie to 1800 and now back to losing again. I'd read that for every 5 lbs lost, you have re calculate your TDEE again (which is what I follow)

This. I think in your 3rd trimester you might have to increase by 500.

Wow loved it!

You know that kinda reminded me, a month after I had delivered my baby an acquaintance walked up to me and asked 'I forgot, when are you due?' ????

I agree with this. The 'cancer' one isn't really amusing

What is the Plank challenge?

Purchase it from eBay for half the price. I'm on Week 4 and love it. I Iike to have a schedule for my workouts with a different workout every day, that's why I chose this. And it's just 25 mins and who doesn't have time for that?! Have you done any other workouts before? I'd recommend doing a month of any Jillian Michaels…

I'm currently of week 4 of T25. I love following a schedule and doing a different exercise everyday. But I don't have access to a gym, so I bought this. No regrets so far except that it has too many lunges and squats. Now squats I love, but I had a knee injury several yrs ago and when I do the lunge progressions, my knees…

I started today too! I'll be watching this thread.

I'm not a pro but I just looked at your diary. How have you calculated your daily estimate? Most people around here say TDEE-20% is the way to go. Also do you weigh your food? There can be a a lot of difference in measuring with cups vs weighing and it can add up over the day.

I've a Reebok one that I purchased 6 yrs ago. Still works great. I think I purchased it for around $35.

Then what you probably need is a HRM. It will calculate your burns more appropriately since you like to switch between walking and running. And yes running burns almost double the calories as walking. The more your heart rate is up, the more calories you burn.

I do B. I see it as quality overly quantity. You don't want to be in a bad form doing it but you also don't want exert yourself to the point of injury. For me personally, lunges are hard. I've had a muscle tear in my right knee long time ago and if I do quick lunges, the pain starts to come back. So I take them slowly…

Pre-baby I lost about 30 lbs in 6 months with running as my main cardio. So yes it can be used. Any exercise that gets your heart rate up is good. BUT watch your form though. If you're running for the first time, don't run too fast. Start slowly and build up your speed everyday.

This. That's super impressive but I wonder how you're managing it at work

This ^^^ word to word. Earlier I used to sit down with a pack of shortbread cookies. Since I started tracking 3 weeks ago I've had ONE. I now have Pita chips with Hummus as snack and count them out before hand. I would also recommend getting a food scale. I got one from Amazon for $14 shipped. Earlier I used to ball park…
