  • I marinade in a bowl, measure everything out and weigh it before the meat goes in, let the meat soak, then I weigh what is left. You can get a pretty decent estimation that way.
  • I am at 50% carbs, 30% fat, 20% protein, but I treat the protein as min, not a max. I've been happy with it so far.
  • When you say "your doctors refuse to help me anymore." Have you tried going to a different set of doctors, slipped disc pain is very well known. If this is something you had done 7 months ago, maybe you should pay them another visit and insist to get it checked again to see if the condition worsened. However, as others…
  • "cup"? What is a cup lol, two huge handfuls of kale for me looks like almost 3 cups until I compress it down and then it makes maybe a cup and a half. Is there a weight measurement I can go by? If my two huge handfuls of kale is considered one serving I'm seriously screwed on my veggies for the day.
  • The only pb2 i saw was on amazon and it was powdered, is there one with an actual peanut butter consistency? I miss peanut butter and jelly sandwiches XD
  • I also do green smoothies as well. Mine typically consist of 2 "handfuls" of my chosen green, usually spinach or kale, I switch between them on a bi-weekly basis. It usually comes to about 50g of the green. Then I add fruit, which is usually strawberry's or blueberry's (or both), sometimes mango. The fruit weight usually…
  • If you lost inches but not weight that should be telling you all you need. You are likely gaining muscle and retaining some water but losing inches. I would weigh your food though like poster above me suggest if your not doing so already. Also, make sure you are getting adequate protein so that your not risking muscle loss…
  • "I don't look my weight." I don't know if it denial or what but I honestly still think that, however, I no longer use it as an excuse to be the weight I am. I want to have a healthy bmi. I want to have a GOOD resting heart rate, because mine is so poor atm.
  • I get more sugar than that from fruit. :noway:
  • I bought mine sometime last year, and I love it, was well worth the $99 dollars to me. However, keep in mind there are two versions of the original nutribullet, BOTH have the exact same box. One comes with reinforced blades, motor, and leak guards on the lids and whatnot. The older version does not. However, the older…
  • I don't really use any of their recipes. I just sorta weigh everything out and put everything into a recipe and put it into my dairy that way so there isn't 60 things on my food dairy everyday. If you have the same green smoothie often, you can kinda just make a recipe that is close to what you have everyday and just stick…
  • I prefer treadmill because elliptical feels so unnatural to me. Also, elliptical tends to wear out my knee way way faster than the treadmill does, even when treadmill is on an incline.
  • I had a magic bullet as well, and I own a Nutribullet now. I definitely think the nutribullet is pretty boss in comparison.
  • Is rice like pasta where to get an accurate serving size you need to measure it before it's cooked? (aka, dry rice)
  • Or...you could just change your initial weight to be two pounds heavier. After-all, the difference didn't make you actually gain two pounds, its just the difference in the scales.
  • I never tried kale till about a month ago. I hate it. Really bad. I can cover it up pretty nicely in a green smoothie though. I won't lie though, I pretty much hate all veggies except raw carrots. If not for green smoothies, I pretty much would barely have any in my day to day life. Even with the green smoothie, I question…
  • Holidays only come around so few times of the year, I personally don't worry about it. I forget who said it, but I love this quote I heard on here. "Your running a marathon, not a sprint, one day wont undo all your hard work" Just work out more the days before, or the days after, or both. Or you could just leave yourself…
  • When I go out to eat, Chinese buffet's included, I allot 75% of my calories for the day to the "going out" part. I also give myself some wiggle room the week before (or week after if it was unexpected), and then those left over calories from those days go out to eat. Exercise the day you go out, if you use the mfp default…
  • I always feel like a terrible person on these forums, I absolutely love cow milk and use it everyday.
  • I don't use my green smoothie as a meal replacement, but I love using protein powder because I have a really hard time reaching my protein macro for the day. MFP uses 20% protein as a default, this should be considered a min, not a max. That, and I find when I add a foul tasting green like kale (I'm sorry, but its gross),…
  • Depends on how much you eat during meals and what your net calorie goal is. I know most of my snacks are now fruits and veggies, because I won't lie I hate veggies and the only one I can really eat and not gag is carrots. I have to get my other veggies in green smoothies which for me is about a 200 calorie snack, would be…
  • I was shocked the first time I put in homeade hot chocolate. It is usually a regular winter treat for me. Not this winter though, too many empty calories. Now it is a special winter treat.
  • I'm 5' 7" and I'm currently aiming for 159 which is the very tippy top of what is considered a healthy bmi for me. I think after that I won't really worry about the weight itself as much as starting to give a much deeper focus to strength training from that point. I don't know if I want to be super muscular as a women, but…
  • I only go out maybe once every two weeks, during that week I will leave myself some calories left over each day and I basically leave those calories for that dinner. During the day of the dinner, I allot around 75% of that days calories to the dinner as well, then eat light the rest of the day. So between the 75% of one…
  • When I was at my heaviest last year I looked at the number and was like....I don't want this in my life. I didn't join mfp then but that is when I stopped going after 2nds and 3rds at every meal. I lost 40 pounds on my own, but could not lose anymore after that. In January, I just joined mfp on a whim because I was tired…
  • I'm 23 as well. Looking to lose 69 lbs. Will take me over a year I imagine, and I'm on my third week here on mfp but I'm really happy with my results so far.
  • So wait, you eat 1300 but you burn a 1000? Your net calories for the day is 300, this is really bad in the long term. How are you determining exercise calories burned, through mfp or a hrm? At-least try to eat 50% of your exercise calories back, you may gain at first because of water retention and whatnot, but it will go…
  • My food is just as satisfying, HOWEVER, I have learned now that I have been on mfp for several weeks which foods satisfy me more, and I allot my calories towards those foods vs. foods I didn't really like but ate anyway before.
  • A digital scale will only run you anywhere from 10-20 bucks. Just get one with a tare feature (aka zero it out). Mine cost me 15 dollars on amazon.
  • I kinda eat whatever I want throughout the week as long as it is in my calorie limit. So I don't ever feel like I'm cheating. However, special occasions arise where I cannot realistically guess how much I'm eating and it would be silly / inappropriate / a mood killer to bring a scale to weigh my food. Typically those days…
