  • You need to do a sinus rinse. You can buy it at the pharmacy but if you can't afford anything you can use a teapot or anything with a spout or a squeeze bottle with lid with a hole. Basically you fill it with warm water in which you mix equal parts baking soda and salt. (say 1/2 tsp total) Make sure it's dissolved well,…
  • I looked at your food diary, if that is accurate, I can see why you are hungry! you need to eat more and more filling foods rich in protein and vitamins and minerals, and fiber! Because of your phobia I would look up recipes designed for kids. There are lots of ways to hide veggies in foods and make healthier options…
  • Maybe your co-worker is jealous of your success? You are doing an awesome job. I know for myself my stomach is the last place weight comes off. It sucks! HUGS Jade
  • I have a whole host of joint issues as well as Sciatica and Bursitis in my knees. I find gentle stretching (the whole body but I do extra on my back and all my legs/hips) several times a day, Yoga and swimming as well I find are very helpful
  • I had a few pieces of chocolate last night and woke up to a facial rash and redness. Did you have chocolate or sugar?
  • Nope. I hate feeling constricted.
  • Montreal, originally from Toronto.
  • You want her to wear a low cut dress but then complain when she drops food/ meat juice in the low cut dress? This is the weirdest thread. you have issues and it's not your girlfriends clothing
  • I've been looking too. I want something simple that I can read easily and a watch style because I am sure to lose a clip on! I have been eyeballing this one http://www.polar.com/ca-en/products/get_active/fitness_crosstraining/FT4 and I've seen a few ones from Skechers online, but I can't find it in Canada
  • I often make "juice" for my toddler which is a fruit herbal tea bag in a jug of cold water (mixed berry is usually the go to flavour) you can do that in a restaurant with just the tea bag in a glass of cold water. It does flavour it and when it gets too strong she can add more water
  • If you live in an apartment you can climb the stairs of your building. I've done that too. :)
  • As mentioned find something you like (you don't have to love it yet) that makes you move, even if it's a little bit. Crank music and dance while you clean (double bonus you can log cleaning as an exercise), swim, walk, stairs. just move, a little bit at first. I will tell you I have done the whole gym thing in the past and…
  • so just a little update. I've lost 1.2 lbs since my last post after having upped my calories and tried to put in more exercise. Not a massive drop but I am happy. (and I should add I had fast food last night with my family) :noway:
  • OP move out and far away from your family as soon as you can. They have a seriously distorted view regarding food and health. My mother has that view of "I will love you if you are thin" mentality and it is so wrong and hurtful. I really feel for you. Get away and life you life for you! Work on learning to love yourself,…
  • What did he say? I just bought 2 of his products from the thrift store yesterday. Colors of your life audio cassette set and Groovin in the house. I have no idea what they are like yet but if anyone wants a review let me know
  • TMI but chia seeds do not agree with everyone. be careful! I like them but even a small amount and I can't leave the house! lentils, beans, veggies, berries, make hummus or bean dips, grain breads, stuff like that. I have a mini contest with myself to see if I can get more than my fiber total for the day.
  • OP I urge you to find a therapist who you connect with and will help you. if your current therapist is not helping, perhaps through your schools medical center you can find another or a different mode of help. If that is not an avenue of help then a hotline for eating disorders would be my next suggestion. What you need is…
  • sleep apnea can be genetic. Children can have it, my husband had it as a child. It runs in my husbands family (he and all his siblings use a CPAP) My Brother in Law lost maybe 30lbs or so and still needs it.
  • You have had a traumatic time! ill, on meds, in the hospital, back out again. The first thing I want to say to you is try not to be so hard on yourself. You have been through a lot, and it is going to take time for your to feel good again. It's not something that you should try to brush aside. This has been a big change…
  • I have this exact one. I have had it for 8 years and it still works great. I use it for weighing packages to mail as well and it's been accurate for that http://www.wayfair.com/Taylor-11-lbs.-Digital-Food-Scale-3801-TYR1058.html
  • I wasn't in a great place last night. I wanted to thank everyone for their kind words, ideas and support. Today is a new day with no mistakes in it  Resetting the switch and moving on. It's lovely to be able to have a place to turn to and freak out a little and have people that understand.
  • I am going to read the rest of this in the morning. I do very much appreciate all the helpful input. Thank you again.
  • omg that kitchen safe is hilarious! I don't think that would work me, if I had it and wanted it, I'd break that thing to get at it! I try to not buy temptations, but yeah I have wine so I drank some tonight and my husband went for "snacks" and I was tempted so got him to get me a small bag of that "smartfood" popcorn, ie…
  • Thank you David those are great suggestions. While I don't actually normally drink, I do have a toddler so some days (!) wine is necessary after his bedtime. I am one of those weird people who actually likes her wine watered down.
  • I know I have to stop labeling food. I agree! I am trying to work on it. :) I grew up being hated for who I was, my mother did terrible mind tricks of telling me not to eat certain things because I was fat (I never was) and then buying my favorite snacks and monitoring if I ate them or not and how much. She would reprimand…
  • Well I do water down my wine so I guess it's not so bad. It's nice to read that I am not alone. Sometimes I read all the success stories on here and while I am really happy for them, I struggled with HOW did they overcome all their demons to get there? And I find it hard to see myself at the end sometimes
  • Thank you! I had been cutting out the "bad" foods (for my thinking of course) since before I joined MFP in January simple because I wanted a total fresh start Then i went to a wedding recently and I thought, "well okay maybe I can do this" and I didn't eat too bad that night but I did have some fried things and some sweet…
  • Thanks for that The calculator only gave me one shoe option. I guess I will have to drag myself to a store (groan, I hate shopping)
  • This is going to sound strange but did you change your shampoo or other hair care products? I changed shampoo once and I thought it was good for my hair (it had Argan oil in it) and my hair was falling out a lot. I have super thick hair and I could feel and see that it was getting less and less. Well I stopped using…
  • I just want to hug you. WTF?? is wrong with some people? Those "perfect" girls were miserable and decided to make you their target of all their unhappiness. It isn't you.
