Hi there, I also believe the importance of having friends to motivate each other on our weight loss journey. I have joined MFP for about a month and have lost 3kg so far. I have 23kg more to go. Add me if you like and we can motivate each other. :smile:

I eat white rice too. I can't eat brown rice cause it makes me bloated and nausea. White rice is refined grain, which turns to glucose faster than brown rice. Brown rice is a complex grain and has a higher fibre content, hence it slows down the breakdown into glucose. Depends on your stats, e.g. Your weight, calorie intake…

Different curries uses different spices.. Eg. There are chicken curry, fish curry, vegetable curry. For some, either coconut milk or yoghurt are added into the curry. I use a combi of both.

Just my 2 cents' worth. I don't believe in depriving myself of my cravings. I will only keep thinking of it and feeling miserable. Just portion the fried rice (either take away or home cooked). You can try to have more vegetables, they are low in carbs and high in fibre. They also make you feel full. Have good fats, like olive oil. Switch refined carbs to complex carbs like brown rice or wholemeal bread.

I do. I don't freak out if it increase a bit. It could be muscle mass or water retention etc. i weigh myself everyday.

Thank you so much for this post. The article certainly clear up my doubts. I have been fretting for days when I undereat my calories on some days and reading some posts on other threads didn't really help. After reading this, I felt much better. :)
