Yeah, I find that my fitbit likes to overestimate a bit too. So I tend to just eat and keep a decent amount left in the green while making sure I'm full. In the morning the fitbit then shrinks down my estimate from the day before so I wind up with a pretty good deficit. I'm still getting the hang of it and I'll probably…

I see, so you upped your caloric intake to compensate for the more protein and just made sure to eat it all. Did you use the TDEE method to figure out your calories? Plus in exchange, you worked out more- I'm sure lifting weights is pretty intense XD. I'll probably follow up more on this next month when I'm (hopefully)…

I appreciate the encouragement :). If I may ask you something, I understand that I'll have to increase my protein intake once I start lifting. Right now I'm probably not eating enough but I'm just focused on caloric intake right now, measuring food and eating healthier as a whole-just basically getting into the swing of…

That's fantastic! I've sort of just started and I miss yummy cookies and spaghetti very much ;n;. I'm going to try and bring them back into my life (starting with those whoopie pies *drool*). I'm doing mostly treadmill right now and I'm perfecting my squats so I can start stronglifts 5x5 next month. It will be my first…

super cool hat!

rocking out to music...even if I dance terribly :). I love just jumping and moving around to the beat and letting the energy out.

Our cheat meals could be noodles and ramune XD

^ Agreeing with kiyalynn on pretty much everything. I suppose it wasn't so much the game playing and inactivity that caused me to gain weight and not do homework when I was younger, but it was the depression and stress of middle school- I was teased very badly as well. I ate a lot and all of the wrong things and that's…

Ditto here. It's all about balance.

I'm biased since my mother got me a Game Boy Color when I was a little older than your son, but I recommend Nintendo- at least for his age. Great franchises for all ages like Mario and Pokemon, and it's a good introduction to gaming. As others have mentioned here too, limiting the time your son plays is important, and with…

Went to the gym, shopped for good food (and walked right past all the junk!), made a new yummy chicken recipe, made some yummy breakfast meals for several days to come, AND was under my calories with not too much spillage over on the macros. AND I read 4 pages in my spanish book with my husband (It's a book about taking…

Aaah that's what I figured. I'll use cutlets next time. BTW, I did make it, with 1 strip of bacon and half the cranberries and cheese. I'm eating half of it now as we speak along with some veggies. IT'S GLORIOUSLY DELICIOUS TuT. Thank you so much for sharing it! I'm definitely going to come back to this and make it like…

quick question, as i'm making this tonight: how big was the chicken you used? The breast I'm using is about 9.5 oz, and mfp already says it's about 400+ calories. In total it's about 641 calories based on the ingredients I got. Did I do something wrong? edit: looks like i was measuring for cooked chicken, not the raw…

I've heard of stronglifts, and I was planning on trying it after I lost the weight. I'm willing to try it now though (actually I was working on my squat posture yesterday to prep  ). I'll try that, and a couple of machines I've tried that seem fun. In total I'm hoping to lose a little weight, tone up and eat…

bump because this sounds epic. How much is a serving?
-
I think I'm going to have to make some of these for next week :). Sorry if this is a dumb question, but just to confirm: one serving is one breast right?
-
Sadly no, I'm unemployed right now :(. I'd have to talk it out with my husband like I did with the fitbit. He might say yes to just one, but I'd have to see. I'll try though.

Like so, with a little dijon, honey and pepper: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/robin-miller/honey-mustard-glazed-salmon-fillets-recipe.html Delish results every time :)

What kind of weight training to you suggest? Machines or lifting? I'm pretty new to this kind of exercise so I guess I don't know what would be appropriate. I was going to do lifting once I hit my weight goal, but if I can try it a little bit now I guess if it's worth a shot.

See, that's pretty much what I did. I went on the treadmill and put it into MFP, just so I could have recorded what I did. It did subtract from the Fitbit during the time I said I was working out, like you said it would. The mysterious thing is that a few hours later, after I came home and just hung out, the FitBit…

I'm the same stats as the person above, though my goal is to go from 130-120. Afterwards I'm going to strength train to bulk up. Feel free to add me!

To answer your first question I went here: http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/mbf/. I think it's the military one. I just now realized upon reevaluation for the umpteenth time that I was measuring my waist wrong for this one. I was doing it at the navel, where i'm 33. However, it seems I'm supposed to do it at the small of…

Fencing! What's your favorite animal?

Based on what has been said above, I should record non-walking exercises and eat back the calories from them. I think I have at least that clear. One thing that still confuses me a bit is the fitbit adjustment that appears here on MFP. For example, so far today I have only been sitting down and sleeping, and I've…

I can vouch for #4 on this list! Haven't put cheese on mine yet, but just putting an egg in it and popping it in the oven is a really great breakfast option! A few tips for if you'd like to try it: 1. You should dig out a little more of the avocado around the pit hole to make sure the egg will fit properly. 2. On the…

I'd say I agree with the above. Everything in moderation, and after a while of healthy eating, there's a good chance you're not going to even crave them anymore. That happened to me a few years ago when I was a bit more fit than I am now. Another thing you can do is just try not to buy them. If that's unavoidable, perhaps…

Hi editor, I apologize but could you please specify where it is? The link you provide just takes me to the group and I don't see any pinned threads started by you.

I would plan to do HIIT on the same day I go to the gym, so basically put all of the exercise in on day three times a week. As far as aggression goes, I guess I can sort of see that now in taking a step back. Based on your suggestions Tom, I'll do my best to reevaluate things and look for something more reasonable to do…
