Hard work and dedication will get you there! ;) You could do the same thing if you have an old pair laying about. Sit them out! Have a visual reminder of why you're doing this. Something to keep you moving forward!

Pick one item that you absolutely adore and hang it where you can see it daily. Try it on every so often and the day that it fits, it'll be one of the best motivators to keep going! I guarantee it! I did this with a dress I had bought late fall a few years ago and was never able to wear it come summer or for the 2 summers…

That's amazing! To fully regain everything back when they said you probably wouldn't is fantastic! I'm glad you've decided to take control and really strive to reach your goals! Best wishes!

That's a great start! Like I said in my "advertisement" post we'll call it lol.. It's not so much about the number on the scale as it is staying accountable and motivated and really just making this your lifestyle. It's amazing what the small changes in your life make once they start adding up. Since it's not such a huge,…

Invitations have been sent! :)

10 pounds is a great start! Good job! With some hard work and dedication, another 10 is right around the corner! :)
-
Welcome! I'll consistently be posting in the group to help keep everybody on track! Best of luck to you!
-
I've sent you both invites! Or you can just go to groups and look for "20 pounds by 2016" :)

I'm going to kick everything off (first tracked weigh in) on Sunday! It's more about staying focused, staying on track and having people to help you get into the mindset you need for this lifestyle than it is about the exact number on the scale. Goals are always a good motivator though and it certainly wouldn't hurt to…

Hello! Hopefully the exercise and motivation can be a stress reliever of sorts for you! Turn it into a release point for yourself and it'll do great things for you! :) Good luck to you!

Welcome! Myfitnesspal really is a great tool! Best of luck to you as well!

Thank you! I'm glad you're here! I'm going to do my best to keep everybody thinking positive and moving forward! I'll be on the journey right along with you! :) Here's to a fresh start!
-
I'll go first! As I previously said, I started this journey back in January. At that point, I was at my heaviest of 265 (that was recorded anyway). Long story short, a person very close to me was brutally honest but not in the sense that they were being mean, making me think less of myself. They had just simply said that I…

I get my coffee from my local farmer's market. There's a couple that has a small business and the coffee is amazing! They have a "costa rica" blend that's really delicious, without anything in it. Try a local small business! They tend to put a lot of care into their product. :) And like others have said, invest in an…

Thanks everybody! I didn't realize how hard on myself I would continue to be but I've finally started noticing the changes. :) Not only have I gained my confidence back but I feel great! My knee pain is gone, I don't get short of breath easily anymore and I'm just a happier person in general. It's not as hard as it seems…

Thank you, everyone!

I was approached and asked to be a part of a relay marathon team with people at work! It was exciting for me that I was thought of because people at work know that I've been jogging consistently and getting in shape! :)

I do different workouts every time! I run consistently but one day it'll be a slow jog, another day will be intervals of sprinting and jogging, etc. YouTube has a great variety of channels to follow and videos to use! I just do whatever sounds FUN that day! Zumba, weights training, mixed martial arts workouts/kickboxing (I…

Congratulations! Great job! I've made the same goal for May! I'm only 4 pounds away from my first short term goal of 50 pounds! I'm working hard (and waiting so patiently) to announce it on my Facebook and maybe in the community lol.
-
I totally blanked out on posting half way through but I've still been keeping track! I'm proud to say that I not only met my goal but surpassed it! My goal was 9 and I lost *almost* 10 pounds! 9.8 to be exact! I hope everyone else did well! I did notice they didn't do a final weigh in post. :(

I have a giant wall of mirror in my living room so I could always watch and/or record myself and compare. My boyfriend used to be a boxer but he hasn't done it in years either so I just need some more up to date info! I'm going to get that book for sure. And I'll check around town at the community center or other gyms and…

Ok. Seems like I should find a better gym with trainers lol. I'm a single mom so saving cash where I can is important. I work at a hotel which has a fitness center. The gym is very nice, people off the street get memberships and everything, and I get access for free. But the employees aren't trained for anything really.…

Perfect! Thank you!

I'll give that a look too! Thanks for the tip!

I've seen the Stronglifts thing on lifting posts before but I didn't know it was an app! Just put it on my phone to check it out. Thanks!

I guess I hadn't put too much thought into my ultimate goal with it really. I just know I want to do it. I'll give YouTube a look later on today! My gym confidence is still building. It's miles from where it used to be but when it comes to new things, I'm still a little reserved. I just don't want to risk looking like I…

I use quinoa just like I would rice! Garlic mushroom quinoa is a go to for me. Cook it up according to the package. In the meantime I sauté mushrooms and garlic for a few minutes with a small amount of olive oil (I have a misto that I spray the pan with) and then I just mix it all in! I made these last night but I used…

Hi everyone! I'm Chandal! I'm 25, I live in Michigan and I have a 5 year old daughter as of yesterday! I'm still coming to terms with that fact lol. I had a MFP account awhile back but I never used it like I should have on a regular basis. I've always been overweight my whole life. When I had graduated high school, I had…
