Shepherd's pie and waldorf salad.

I also use Big Oven on my phone, tablet and computer. You can also import recipes by url on that, too (most of the time). Then I edit it to match my fitness pal. Many of my MFP recipes say (big oven) in the titles. You can download the free app, but it doesn't do nearly as much as the subscription. It's 19.99 yr for the…

If I load a recipe from a website or cookbook, I just put the location where I found the recipe in the title. I also put the serving size: "pasta fagioli (skinnytaste) (1 cup)" It makes it so much easier for me.

Homemade chicken souvlaki on a Joseph's Flax/Oat Pita with tomato, onion and homemade tzatziki sauce and a cup of Greek potato salad. Yum! 448 calories. For dessert, 2 mini black bean brownies.

Very pretty. I like trying different things with tuna. Lately, I've been smearing avocado on 50 calorie toast, then tuna, onion and tomato for an open faced sandwich. I only need one piece of bread because I use a whole tuna creations pouch.

I just discovered butternut squash and I love it. Last week I bought a gargantuan one and roasted it. Hubby and I ate it all week long. It was wonderful.

I've been wanting to try these. I think I might try cooking them in a mini muffin pan.
-
I haven't heard of that before. What are some of the flavors? I'm also in the process of giving up cokes.

Tijuana Flats. 2 fish tacos and side of refried beans. 448 calories.

Exactly! That's exactly how I am! It seems like it is some weird deep-seated, ingrained personality quirk with me. Lol.

I did that earlier this week. We went to Outback and I ordered the 6 oz Outback Special. I cut it in half. When I weighed the "other half" at home it was 1.6 ounces!! WTH?? I told my husband I should start carrying our scale in my purse and whip it out and measure my steaks before I cut it. I wonder what they would think…

That looks and sounds delicious! You wouldn't happen to know a calorie count would you?

I started doing this, too. I really like doing it because it's like getting a double treat. I also check out the menu before I go if I can find one. I did that tonight for Tijuana Flats. I already had it loaded in MFP before I left the house. I had 2 fish tacos on whole wheat tortillas and a side of refried beans. 448…

A really cheap and calorie friendly dessert is a 3-2-1 cake. Have you ever heard of them? I love chocolate, too, so have made up a batch of mix to keep on hand. It makes a ton of mix, too. 1 box any flavor cake mix 1 box angel food cake mix Mix together dry mixes. When ready to have a piece of cake: Place in a coffee mug:…

Prepping ahead really helps me. I am trying to get in the habit of washing and chopping all my veggies at the same time. This weekend my daughter and I are going to make several dishes, soups and breakfasts to be frozen. I want to make some crockpot freezer meals, too. It helps us to eat at home and is so much healthier…

I've started asking for a box when they bring my meal, too. It makes a huge difference for me and I get to eat the other half later without going over my calorie allowance (usually).

My problem is I am still in the infant stage of "learning moderation". I'm like a little kid. "Don't eat that." And then I obsess on it until I end up going hog wild and eating the whole whatever. That's what I love about MFP. While I am learning moderation, as long as I allow for it, I can have it. You guys have excellent…

I agree with jgnatca. It freezes really well. I only use the little 6 oz cans, but almost everything I make using it only calls for a tbsp or so. I always have to freeze the rest. The muffin pan idea is great. I'll have to do that next time. Or maybe an ice tray.

Great suggestions!

They look fantastic! I have recently rediscovered kiwi

I love my foodsaver! I mainly use it for meat. It has saved us thousands of dollars over the years. True story: I found a turkey squirreled away in my freezer that was 4 years old. When thawed it was still perfect. We smoked it and it was great. We've had hamburger and steak last over a year. It's truly been the best money…

I did an experiment with my food saver. I had several packages of marketplace chunky avocado from walmart. I emptied them into a mason jar and food savered it. I did that 2 weeks ago. I've used it several times since then, re vacuuming each time. It is just now faintly turning brown. I didn't use any lime or lemon.

Newman's Own Light Lime Vinagarette (sp?) 2 TBSP 60 calories, but it is pretty strong. I rarely use 2 TBSPS

They look wonderful. Do you know if they freeze well? I like having things like this on hand.

Last night I made a huge pot of ratatoutille with eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, garlic, canned tomatoes and garlic. I seasoned with dried basil, dried thyme and S&P. We'll have enough for a couple days leftovers. Tonight I roasted a boatload of butternut squash with garlic and earlier this morning I made a crock pot…

Have you tried the MFP recipe builder? You add the ingredients, put in the servings and it calculates the calories per serving. My biggest problem is 9 times out of 10 my servings don't match the recipe so I almost always have to measure out the servings to get a more accurate count.

They look yummy. I want to start using wonton wrappers. I saw Hungry Girl make "crab rangoon" today. I've seen individual lasagnas made with them, too.
-
This is my favorite way to make cabbage. I brush mine with olive oil, then sprinkle with S&P and fennel seed. It is so good and really low in calories.

I'm trying to work avocados into my diet. The main thing I do with them is put them on sandwiches. I have made baked avocado with an egg baked on top of it. That is very good. I found the instructions on the net. It's been a while since I made it.

I mix it with a banana and chocolate chips and put it on a rice cake or toast. I also put it on apples or pears. I just love it, but I always have to add a little more water.
