Try some changes to your diet, lower fat is one that helps if it is gallbladder problems, also eat smaller amounts more often instead of very big meals and drink lots of water. All of those things helped me before I had mine out, and my pains were not from stuck gallstones, they were from indigestion and gas which can be…

Don't get your gallbladder removed unless you are absolutely sure that is the problem. Even if you have gallstones, they might not be causing problems. My gallbladder was chock full of them (I had a CT scan and you could see them) but I didn't have to have it removed until it became infected, just having stones does not…

Absolutely NOT, especially if it is dark chocolate. :)

I want to see the metrics. My Mom's generation didn't even go to gyms, they had Jack LaLane and a chair or Hathayoga on TV. I want to see who and where these people are, because I don't see it unless I go to certain areas. I had to check if my state still had the most obese city and I found out none of our cities even make…

To me it means the things I hated when I was thinner before like saddle bags and cellulite, sure it is better being thinner, but it is nice not to have visible fat deposits too.

This is not my experience, in my Mom's generation at least 50% were obese once they were over 30 (out of people I know or come into contact with), in my generation, it is more like 20% at best. It is funny because my state is supposed to have the largest population of obese people, but I don't see that many of them unless…

I want to reply as somebody who spent a significant amount of my life (most of it) at "normal" BMI, at the low, middle and high end, and also a shorter amount of time at obese. When I was at the smaller end of BMI I had no curves, I looked like a little boy, and I didn't like that at all, I was happier at the middle end…

Maybe if you gain enough muscle to be 50 lbs. overweight and it is just muscle, I doubt many people do that unless they are extremely serious body-builders. :-) Muscle is GOOD, having strength as you age is very important, strong muscles and bones serve you well...if you don't believe me, just do some searches, even the…

I remember being a child in the 60's and being at elementary school, and most of the Mothers who came to pick their kids up (including my own Mom) were much more overweight/obese than the Moms I see picking up their kids these days. I think you better make that or so another 10 or 20 years because from the mid-50s (or so,…

My wrist was measured when I started dieting, it was over 6" and I was deemed a "large" frame. 61 lbs. later, it measures 6" and now I am a "medium" frame, but I still am not at goal yet, not even sure where that will be, but I did have 4 links taken out of my watch band when I sent it in for maintenance a few months ago,…

"Good lord, those pizza calories!" When I want pizza, I get spinach Neapolitan from a place nearby that makes it really well with an extremely thin crust that is great. I could eat a whole small pie for the calories in that example, but I don't, 2 or 3 slices fits well within my calories for the day, and I don't do it very…

I got turned off to gyms years ago because of germs too, I seem to catch things too easily sometimes. I started off with a golds gym rack, bench and starting set of weights, to 110 lbs, have added a lot of plates, 3 45's, 2 25's 4 10's 2 more 5's and a couple of pairs of fractionals. My latest purchase was a power rack…

I love cottage cheese and it is a great source of protein, regular or low fat.

Could be your adrenals, did your Doc check your cortisol? You might need a low dose of that for a little while.

Yes, I walk at work and there is a cleaning lady I talk to sometimes. The other day I was walking and she ran up to me and said she thought I lost enough weight, I didn't need to lose anymore...I smiled and just kept walking. :) Just let it roll off your back, stop when you are ready, I am not at my goal till I am at MY…

Happy Birthday to all! Workout A (Fri) Dumbbell Skis - 5 x 10 - 40 Overhead Press, Barbell - 5 x 5 - 70 Barbell Row, Bent Over - 5 x 5 - 110 squats 5 X 5 - 205

You think so? Try squatting 200 lbs. then come back and tell me that again. I can't do as much cardio as I used to along with my lifting because my leg muscles don't recover from the lifting then, they need a break to recover, things like squats all leg muscles and compound exercises are full body. You talk like somebody…

There is more to it than just wrist circumference. There is a good body type quiz on bodybuilding .com site that asks more than wrist circumference. That said, modern scientists mostly discredit somatotypes and Sheldon's work, so take it with a grain of salt.

What's an "average" woman? If you are younger, you can have more calories. I lift weights so even though I am older, I can eat around 2000 and not gain at all...I guess if you don't exercise and are over 40 this might apply? I think everybody should just do their TDEE calculation, try it out and then see if they need to…
