  • Thanks everyone. I do understand what everyone is saying, but it didn't used to be this way. For the last 2 years I've taken either a early morning walk or run and the calories burned were similar every day. I'm still following this pattern, but again the calories burned are all over the place. Just an oddity I suppose.
  • I like variety in my breakfasts, but i eat eggs about 2 times a week. I love a fried egg wrapped in a piece of lefsa. The other day on the Today show they had a weight loss segment --- low carb vs low fat (low carb was more successful) and they said people who eat eggs for breakfast seem to do better with weight loss. So,…

  • I love to roast my veggies. Super easy put them on a baking tray, lightly drizzle some olive oil (you can use the spray kind too) and shake a few seasonings on.
  • I've been buying a lot of pattypan this summer. Love it Sautéed, grilled or roasted. I bought some at the farmers market today and she mentioned stuffed, so now of course looking for recipes for that!
  • I was 290 in January and now I'm down to to 228. I still have a ways to go, but I'm doing it! Sorry not sure how to add pictures or I would. Started out by getting used to half mile walks in the mornings. Now I take a five mile walk in the morning (with minute running sprints throughout) and at least a two mile work out in…
  • I weigh everyday, but mostly because it helps me keep my motivation. My scale weighs tenths so it's nice to see it go down even if it's just a couple tenths.
  • I've been trying to change for the last few years, but earlier this year a friend died after falling into a diabetic coma (he was only 40). I had just had my annual physical where I was told I was pre-diabetic and I knew it was time for me to start taking this serious! 52 pounds lighter since Jan., and I'm happier, but the…
  • I could use a few motivating friends. I've lost 50 lbs since January, but still have a long road ahead of me. My favorite exercise is walking and I'm now up to about 5 miles a day. My diary is open to friends. I'm not really on a formal plan, but I do tend to keep low carb and low fat most days, so lots of veggies and…
  • It took 12 hours to get from where I live to Macinack, so I know there was few days of inactivity while traveling there and back. Anyway, the vacation weight came off quickly, but now the back to normal life weight is coming off a bit slower. Ah well, life goes on. :)
  • Thanks everyone. Yes, I did have a good time I tried to log everything, but I might have missed something here or there. The only really hard part was Mackinac is known for their fudge... Was so tempting, but it didn't fall off the wagon that far!
  • Thank you. I try to research before heading out to a restaurant and if I can avoid the bread I'm off to a good start! :)
  • I'm 5'4 I'm down to 243, but my goal is 150. It should probably be less, but can rethink that when I get there :)
  • I've had a lot of success with replacing rice with sautéed cabbage, and I love spaghetti squash, but if I can't find that at the store I make noodles out of zucchini. I've also bought a box of carbquick it's a bit like bis quick, but lower carbs.
  • I started in January -- you know start the New Year off right. I'm doing pretty well, but about to go on a big family vacation for a week. Not sure how to handle not being in total control of what is being cooked, and having to eat at restaurants more often. I found a few apps that give calories for most chains, but not…
