This is true for everything in life, not just exercise. Work, education, relationships, hygiene, and so on. There's no substitute for discipline. Sometimes you have to force yourself to do what you don't want in the moment so you can get what you want in the long term. I think it's fair to say that everyone has to struggle…

I was going to post this gif in response to the title of the thread. Only to find I already did it 3 years ago. At least I'm consistent.

I usually do double reds, and don't even try to exercise after donating on that day. I tried it once and it was awful - I had almost no energy and felt sick. I find even the next day's exercise intensity suffers. There's a reason they tell you not to do strenuous exercise after donating!

I use a gym in my workplace. There were notices on the doors this morning that it is closed until further notice so the cleaning staff can focus on increasing sanitation elsewhere in the building. Bummer.

Everybody talks about it but nobody does anything about it?

Varies by day and the meals we're having. Some days as low as 2 servings, other days maybe 4-6. I feel just fine with the complex carbohydrates - they give me fuel for my exercise.

"The struggle is real"

Yes, you can totally do this. I do it regularly. I actually build it in to my daily goals. Just be careful to stay within your adjusted budget - it can be possible to slip into an overeating mindset. Also be aware that you may see a bump up in the scale after the weekend due to the increased food.

In the OP, she says:

All, keep in mind OP says she has body dysmorphia. OP, I'm not a doctor but you don't look to me like you have PE. You look like a healthy, attractive young woman.

In past years I've given up particular foods, or other eating habits, with the nice side benefit of losing weight. What I found, though, was that I returned to my old habits after Easter, and that the weight loss didn't stick. Plus on reflection I realized that my abstinence was focused more on my own vanity than it was on…

Wow, this infographic is all over the internet, with multiple variations. It's a Pinterest favorite. It looks like various contributors have added things and changed things - note that the original doesn't have the "Gout - 77% resolved", for example. Here's the original. It's from "Risks and benefits of bariatric surgery:…

@affirmationguy, that's not how public forums work.

I have a question for those who have a strict cutoff time: 8 PM, sundown, whatever. How do you deal with situations where you can't fit your last meal in by that time? Say you have a meeting to attend after work, and it runs late, and now it's past your cutoff? Or you're working on a special project and can't take a break…

It's great that these help you. I don't personally find this kind of thing helpful. Some of these I liked a lot and agree with. I also actively disagreed with some of them: - "Scales are for fish": not a chance. My scales are highly useful tools. - "Don't love it? Don't eat it!": Mrs Jruzer will get annoyed with me if I…

I've said it before, but will say it again for emphasis: discovering the NEAT method was the key to my losing weight and getting fit, after decades of trying and failing. I didn't have to follow a punishing exercise plan and a cruelly arbitrary diet. I set my calorie level appropriately to lose weight, and then got…

@NC2001 I usually decline comment on zombie threads, but kudos to you for coming back after so long, learning some things, and updating us. Good luck to you!

If you're like me, you get older, lose cartilage, and start to shrink on the height charts. ;)

I think there's a strong selection bias on this thread. Our family uses the microwave a lot. We don't eat many pre-made meals, though. Instead we heat up leftovers, or water for a single cup of tea, or defrost meat or other frozen foods. It's a huge time saver. I work with high power microwaves so they don't present a lot…

That recipe looks jank. https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/bbq-meatball-sub/ Maybe you're supposed to heat up the sub rolls?

I'm not sure what's included in "and such". How about: Primus Death Dream Theater (I'm a huge fan, but will admit they're not for everyone) Meshuggah Gojira Also, allow me to point you and everyone else toward this gem: the Music Map. Type in a band, and it will display a map of similar artists that you may enjoy.

I'm afraid I don't know where it's available. I've seen a few snippets of it on the interwebs, and have seen it referenced here as well as on other discussion forums.

I'm about your height and (goal) weight, but 20+ years older than you. I maintain on about 2200 calories without exercise. With exercise I think it's likely you'll still lose there. By the way,165 is definitely not too skinny for a male of your height - I personally can stand to lose another 10 lbs.

I've got a pair of Vasque backpacking boots. They weren't cheap but I've put a lot of miles on them. They're really sturdy and comfortable on my wide feet, now that they're broken in.
