Onion rings, roasted potatoes or other vegetables, microwave vegetables like corn or broccoli

I don't have a bikini. Can I borrow one from my wife?
-
Yes, I do this regularly and it works well for me. Be aware that you'll see bigger swings on the scale using this technique.

Maybe just don't have this:

High calorie but low fat and sugar? Is there a reason you want to eat this way? That doesn't give you many options. It pretty much just leaves protein. In addition to what @MaltedTea said above, I can suggest egg whites. Alternately, just try out a few different ideas, calculate the calories, and see what fits into your…

I'm going to guess that the answer to your question is in your post: How low are your calories, and how strict are you being? If you're eating at a very large calorie deficit, this can be difficult to maintain. Many people do well on restrictive diets for a few weeks, and then find themselves relapsing because they just…

I made some half-hearted attempts to get in shape when I was working on my PhD. But by the time I graduated I was near my heaviest weight of all time. It's not easy - good luck!

Sure, you're right about that. But it could be in the reception rather than the delivery. And I feel where the OP is coming from. When I was near my heaviest, my great uncle told me straight out in a room full of people that I was the "fattest one in the Jruzer family", and that obviously was not meant as a gentle…

Now contrast this with other posts that say "I didn't realize how big I was getting. Why didn't anyone tell me?"

Exercise calories are the best tasting calories.

Let me offer a different take. Here are my justifications for not weighing and measuring every single piece of vegetable and fruit: 1. Error bars. There is a large uncertainty in caloric content of food, and there is a large uncertainty in my (estimated), fairly high intentional caloric expenditure. The net effect of these…

Agreeing with @placeboBL and @paperpudding. I loosely log fruits and vegetables. If I have a salad I'll make a SWAG at it. I'll likely not log some of the low calorie veggies, but maybe log more of some of the others to compensate. For example, I wouldn't log the onions but might log a whole tomato instead.

Nice try, Skynet

Sure it is. You eat and drink at certain times, and you use the restroom at certain times. Say you drink a pint of water - you'll go up a pound in the short amount of time due to the increased fluid in your body. Likewise, after you use the restroom, your weight will do down.

Leftovers, like almost every other day. Finished off the last of the sloppy Joe filling today, along with an orange and a peach.

Piece of fruit on weekdays. Keep it simple. Mrs Jruzer is a great baker and she usually makes scones, muffins, or pancakes on the weekend.

I'm mostly here to amuse myself. And to be an occasional agent provocateur.

Just to chime in: my easy rule of thumb for beer is 2.5 kcal per fluid oz per ABV%. So a 12 fl oz pour of an 8% ABV Belgian Trippel, for example, would be 2.5*12*8=240 kcal. Calories are lower for highly attenuated beverages, and higher for less attenuated brews.

It's one meal. Most of us who have lost weight and kept it off have occasional big meals. It didn't ruin anything, unless you let it.

I have proof that my scale does this! It took me a while to demonstrate it, but it's very clear. For a long time (years) I stepped on the scale daily and recorded whatever weight came on it. I started to suspect that the scale was playing this kind of trick, so I made up a histogram showing how much weight change there was…

"Price gouging" is not the cause of shortages. Price gouging laws often are. See also: rent control. http://economics.fundamentalfinance.com/price-ceiling.php

Price gouging laws are the classic way to get shortages.
