  • Coming late to this discussion. Re Non-US holidays, here in the UK we have Bank Holiday Monday on 25th May. Or how about 21st June which is the longest day? Just a thought. Ok, I think I am too late :( Never mind. Serves me right, haha.
  • I gained weight during the last challenge so I need to get myself in hand and shift it off again. I have been pretty useless at exercising recently so one challenge will be to walk at least 15 miles a week. I am setting a weekly target so that I don't beat myself up if I barely move out of the house one day.
  • I hope the surgery was successful and that you make a good recovery. Be kind to yourself while you are healing.
  • Thank you :) My one-to-one went well, but I am afraid this lady is very far behind where she would have been had she been properly educated as a child. She is taking the English exam that 16 year olds sit in the UK, and has failed it four times already. She is however making a tiny bit of progress, failing less badly each…
  • No change in weight again but I feel a bit trimmer round the middle and I am managing to keep off chocolate except for one very small bar on Saturday evening.
  • I will go to my dancing class tonight. I have been out for lunch with hubby and ate too much :s
  • No change for me.
  • Hi, I am Meg from Scotland, living down south in Hampshire, UK. I'm 54 and never got rid of the weight I put on while pregnant with my second child. I am married and have two lovely sons, one (20 yrs) in his final year at university and the other (15 yrs) in his final year at secondary school. I work part time as a…
  • I met yesterday's goal of getting to bed a little earlier, with a hot water bottle (*) I also walked to my film club and home again. Today I will go to my circle dancing class this evening, go out for a walk this afternoon and eat five portions of fruit and veg.
  • Yesterday's goals were met. I walked to my dance class and back home again, and turned down the biscuit plate during our break. Today's goal is to get to bed earlier. I am soooo tired. I was awake half the night because I was cold. If it happens again tonight I will get up and make a hot water bottle ;) I have also now had…
  • This evening I will go dancing. I may have to walk there as my usual lift is unwell, but if I do that is a twentyfive minute walk, mainly uphill, so good exercise. I will not have a biscuit with my cup of tea during our break.
  • Thank you for setting up the new spreadsheet :) can you use the moulds to make ice cubes rather than sweeties in?
  • My goals for this challenge are: 1. Lose 4lbs. I know this isn't much but I have failed so much in the past few months that I am taking tiny steps towards getting back on track. 2. Cut down on sugar intake, and cut out chocolate during the week. 3. Go for a walk every day. For 2015, my goals are to lose more weight,…
  • Thanks for the add, SilverStormi! I'm going to try for 4 pounds in this challenge, have failed miserably in the past couple of challenges and fell off the radar but I am back :) Is there a spreadsheet link yet? emmielou77, I am in the UK too, so you're not alone.
  • Very disappointed to see I have put weight back on again. From this week I will be doing two dance classes of two hours each plus my half hour swim each week. Plus walking as much as I can. Hope to see some difference at some point in the future - that is a difference of the scales going down, not up! Well done to everyone…
  • Hi, again, everyone! I have input my goal for this challenge. Hopefully with getting back to work in a couple of weeks and having a more stable routine again I might manage to shift a bit of weight. Also started swimming again, and dancing twice a week will be a big help. Here's to success and happy support :)
  • You look great! Be proud of your achievement :flowerforyou:
  • You sound very sensible here. Good luck to you, and here's hoping you will be healthy in mind and body. Enjoy your life with your lovely supportive family, and be happy.
  • For each pound weight you lose put some money aside and save up to buy yourself a non-food treat, something that will make you feel good, like a pretty scarf or piece of jewelry. You could put aside the money you are not spending on junk food. Clear your home of junk food before you begin and stay strong! Baby steps and…
  • Do you go on the SkyRide? There is one in most big UK cities and the dates have just been published for this year.
  • You could try swimming or yoga. Both will be suitable for someone with blood pressure and are gentle on the joints. You can also do them alone if you prefer or join a group or class.
  • Padded cycle shorts, don't spend too long on the bike, and use chamois cream after!
  • Good advice there. The main thing is not to be hard on yourself, and be patient. When you have been sick your body needs time to heal so getting right back on a diet after a stomach bug is not a good idea. Be gentle on yourself and on your appetite, eat slow energy release foods and drink plenty of water. You will get back…
  • I'd like to join, please. I lost a stone last year and would like to get motivated again this year :)
