Wasn't as hard as I'd expected but I'd been doing strength/cardio/abs combinations for the last…

I've recently gone to a high fibre diet. My diary is open so feel free to have a peek for ideas - my favourite discovery is a cup of raspberries with about 100ml of low fat yoghurt over the top. Only about 120 calories and 8mg fibre. And oh so yummy. If looking at my diary go back to at least Friday as I had a 'relaxed…

My DVD was dispatched on Wednesday so if it arrives in Monday's mail I'm in.

My DVD didn't arrive :-( If it arrives Monday I might still jump on board and do a double workout day on Tuesday (one session in the morning and one in the evening) so I wind up in sync with the number of sessions done by everyone else.

Thanks all. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and shift over into my maintenance phase.

I said to my boyfriend last weekend that I was going to give it one more week before giving up on reaching my goal weight. Part of me is ready to throw in the towel but part of me just wants to keep battling on. What do people think about what I've been eating? I am happy to try and mix up my eating habits (it is in easier…

Frozen raspberries - 8 grams of fibre per cup. So yummy with a little low fat yoghurt over the top for a healthy yet low calorie dessert.

I've been trying to increase my fibre of late (feel free to look at my diary it is open). I take one serve of Benefibre in the morning but it only as 3 grams of fibre which isn't a lot when you are aiming for 35 grams a day. One of my favourite high fibre discoveries is raspberries - a cup of raspberries (fresh or frozen)…

My DVD was dispatched from the warehouse yesterday so if it arrives in time I'm in.

I'm planning to move into maintenance mode in the next week so I'll add you :-)

Thanks guys for the friend requests that I received. I've just sent requests to those of you who replied to this post. I'm hoping to move into maintenance mode in a week or two and would love to add some more friends who are at this point as well as any other Aussies, shiftworkers, people with back injuries or those in…

Bump. Need to read this thread tonight.

Below are two recipes that I make that reheat well and can be frozen. One of my favourites recipes for using up left over veggies (or any that are going a bit manky) is a vegetable frittata. Beat up 4 or 5 eggs with a little salt and pepper (to taste). Throw in whatever veggies you have. For stuff like spinach/silverbeet…

Let me say I understand somewhat where you are coming from. I left home at 19 and was studying and on a very limited budget and had NO IDEA how to cook healthily with limited $$$$. One of my favourites recipes for using up left over veggies (or any that are going a bit manky) is a vegetable frittata. Beat up 4 or 5 eggs…

I'll be giving them a miss this year I think (unless someone at work brings them in, then I may have one but I'm not having them in my house or I would devour the lot).
-
Bump - ordered the DVD today and am keen to read how those a few weeks ahead of me are going.

Try dropping your speed by 10-20% but increasing the duration by 20-30%, this way you will keep your heart rate at a slightly lower level, will build endurance and increase the overall number of calories you are burning.

Bump.

Bump. I might have to get on board this challenge.

Went grocery shopping today. I got a box of the individual flavourless Benefibre sachets to try - they seem amazing can't even tell the difference from plain water. Also found some multigrain tortilla wraps which are only 100 calories each with 6.6 grams of fibre (guess what I'm having for lunch tomorrow!). I also found…

Minou888 coffee always workd for me too but I went caffein fre about a year ago. In desperation last week I tried a good ol' big mug of coffee - nothin'.
-
Thanks everyone. I have also increased my water intake this week to a minimum of 10 glasses per day. I like the sound of the high fibre tortillas - might have to see if they are available in Oz. I have bought some prune juice too (had forgotten I had) and that is in the fridge. I have always hated porridge (which is what I…

If you can't find the momentum to face your normal length workout (whether it is 30, 45 or 60 minutes) tell yourself "well I'll just do 10 minutes weights/walking/running/whatever other exercise you're into". For me I normally walk at a very brisk pace for at least 60 minutes a day. On the days I feel flat I tell myself…

Thanks for your understanding liscar. You are right I might just have to accept that this is my body's way of saying enough. I intend to keep eating healthily and exercising (as much as I can) and hopefully I will lose that last little bit. It is just so frustrating being so near but so far. Amy you are right I might just…

xraychic I can't jog because I have a severe thoracic spine injury and am waiting to undergo surgery. Only a few months back I struggled to even walk some days and couldn't even do up my own shoelaces. It is super frustrating for me because I have always been the same weight and superfit but because of the injury and…

I found that herbal celery tablets are excellent for water retention at that TOM. They act as a natural diuretic and I find they ease that tummy ache I get in the 3-4 days leading up to TOM.

I downloaded an app for my sony ericcson android phone called cardiotrainer. It is like a pedometer with GPS and tells you the distance you've travelled and calories burned. You can run it as a background app so you can still take calls, get messages etc... I use it on my daily walk but you could use it for a few days…

I was at a function the other night with a set menu. I ate my entree which was pretty healthy (fresh prawns and salad). When the main arrived it looked delicious - a chicken breast stuffed with cheese and spinach - but I also knew it would also be super calorie dense so I cut it in half and gave half to my boyfriend who…

I find the best fix for a sugar craving, and it has virtually no calories, is black adder licorice tea. It is really sweet and I love to have it in the evening. http://www.newleafnutrition.com.au/page/59682/default.asp
