Healthiest/best yoghurt available in Australia
I eat a fair bit of yoghurt. I have it in the morning for breakfast with psyllium husks, LSA, chia seeds, cinnamon and honey and I have it with raspberries for supper a few times per week. I was talking a woman in the healthfood shop yesterday who pointed out that the Yoplait yoghurt I have been having isn't the best for…

Suspected food intolerance - medical referral?
So for the last 3 or 4 months I have been struggling with digestive problems. Sometimes after I eat my stomach, within about 30 minutes, goes from being totally flat to swelling up so it looks like I'm about 6 months pregnant. I have been keeping notes in my diary and it seems like maybe apples, pears and concentrated…

Foods with anti-inflammatory properties
Hi all. I've had a back injury for the last 26 months and had surgery on four of the nerves in my spine yesteray and am having another 4 nerves operated on in 13 days time. I have, when the pain has gotten really bad, used prescription or over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications but in the last few months these have…

Radiofrequency neurotomy
I am scheduled to have it on my thoracic spine (T8, T9, T10 and T11) bilaterally to address pain from a facet joint injury. They are doing one side tomorrow and the other side in a fortnight. Has anyone had this procedure done? How did you pull up afterwards? Did your pain get worse before it got better? For those that…

Substituting white flour in baking
I am currently trying to eat more 'clean foods'. I enjoy baking for myself and my family and am looking for ways to make what I cook more nutritious and healthy. Has anyone got any experience in substituting white flour when baking? What do you substitute it with and is it in the same quantity as the white flour would have…

Greatest/favourite 'health food shop' type food
I have just introduced aloe vera juice, psyllium husks and chia seeds into my diet. I'd be interested to hear what others consider to be the greatest or their favourite 'health food shop' type food and what the benefits of the food item are. As for mine aloe vera juice is supposed to be very good for the stomach and…

Reflux
I have lately been suffering reflux as a result of some medication I'm on. Mylanta and other antacids have not helped and my doctor wasn't able to offer much either. I am in the process of trying to identify triggers and I'm beginning to suspect chilli might be a culprit. In the mean time can anyone suggest any natural…

Apple cider vinegar
I just bought a bottle of apple cider vinegar. I know it is meant to be awesome for your immune system and digestion. My question is how much should I consume and is it best to have it at any particular time of the day?

40+ grams of fibre but things still aren't moving
The title kind of says it all. I've been on a certain medication for a back injury since March and it has caused chronic constipation. I have increased my fibre and generally consume between 40-55 grams per day but it hasn't improved things. My GP prescribed a medication but it didn't help either. My diary is open and I am…

Hit my goal weight during 30 Day Shred
I have just completed the 30 Day Shred - it took me 32 days to get through the 30 workouts cause I missed a couple of days, although on two days I did two workouts to make some of this back up. Aside for the DVD I only did a handful of sessions on the elliptical/exercise bike and did a few gentle walks though I was very…

Ripped in 30 - is it availabe in Australia?
I've been doing 30 Day Shred and am keen to move onto Ripped in 30 next. Does anyone know if any shops here in Australia stock it? I bought 30 Day Shred online from JB Hi-Fi but they don't carry Ripped in 30.

30DS - favourite/least favourite moves
I'm on day 15 and thought it would be interesting (and perhaps helpful for those starting out or considering buying the workout) to discuss everyone's favourite and least favourite moves and why they fall into those categories. My favourite move is probably the military press from circuit 3 of level 2. I love it because…

Thai restaurant - healthiest options
So my dear boyfriend is keen to take me out for dinner tonight and is keen to go for Thai. I'm not a real guru on Thai cuisine. What are the healthiest options I should be picking from the menu? I have 667 calories left for the day at this stage. I'm planning on going for a short walk this afternoon so whatever I eat…

Potassium
So MFP says I should be getting 3500mg of potassium per day but I seem to be only eating 500-800mg a day. What does potassium do for the body and do I need to be getting more of it? If so what on earth contains high amounts of potassium? My diary is open if anyone wants to look at it in order to advise me.

Feedback on my diary.
For the last month I have been struggling to lose the last couple of kilos to reach my goal. My diary is open and I would love any feedback on my food intake that might help me break through this plateau. I can't really increase my exercise as I have a serious back injury and am already at the upper level of what I'm able…

Seeking friends - especially anyone in early 30s, shiftworke
Hi all. My name is Kate and I'm a 31 year old shiftworker from Australia. I've been on the site for a month or so and have made a few friends but am keen to have a few more to help motivate me in the final stage of my weight loss before I move into the maintenance stage. I have a serious back injury so I would be…

Any high fibre foods I'm missing?
I'm on some medication for a serious back injury and let's just so it is making me rather constipated, to the point I have been relying on laxatives to get any action in the number 2s department. I am already eating a really high fibre diet (between 30-40 grams per day) and am wondering if there are any other really high…

Have plateaued with 3.3 lbs to go :-(
To date I've lost 13 lbs, 9 lbs of it since joining MFP. I've got 3.3 lbs to go to get to my goal weight (55kg) but I seem to have hit a plateau. I'm after suggestions and advice. I have increased my fibre a lot in the last week (in part to deal with side effects of some medication I'm on, if you get my drift). I am unable…
