i always weigh after it's cooked

can you scrape most of the gravy off of the chop & eat it that way? it won't take away all the calories from the gravy, but it will certainly help.
-
not to sound stupid, but if it took u 19 min to walk 1 mile, isn't that closer to 3 min a mile?

i just read a very intersting article that somebody else on here had posted on this exact topic. here's the link if you're interested: http://www.activepassivediet.com/files/active_passive_chapter_1.pdf good luck & keep at it. the weight will come off eventually, you just have to stick to it!

very helpful information! thanks for posting.

hello susan & welcome

i agree 100% with what you said about never really trying. sure, i've tried diets in the past, but i was never truly committed. what if i fail? well, i guess i'm finally starting to see things a little differently. if i fail, so what? i'm fat now, but if i try & keep on trying, eventually i won't be. i still mess up and…

i do my workout first thing in the morning, before i eat breakfast, so when i'm done i have a bowl of oatmeal. not sure if this is right, but it's what i've been doing.

i have never done the cabbage soup diet, but i have made the soup, and eaten it. the soup isn't bad for you, in fact, i think it's quite healthy, since it's loaded with veggies. if you use the low sodium substitute for the tomato juice, etc, it's even better. when i have a big batch made up, i will eat it for lunch several…

you look amazing! keep up the great work!!!!

i'm interested in what others have to say on this subject also. i don't eat my exercise cals back, and have been losing pretty consistently. only about 1 # a week, but i'm satisfied with that for now.
-
i have a couple of jillian michaels dvds for beginners. one for the frontside, one for the backside. once i feel comfortable with these, i'm gonna go for the 30 day shred.
-
i definitely see the difference. it's hard to eat until your what i call full when your limited to 1200 calories per day

i would make sure to weigh/measure & log everything you eat at the beginning. it's very hard to eyeball something and get the portion correct. drink lots & lots of water. i try to drink at least 1 glass of water before eating each meal, it helps fill you up & is what your body needs to flush out toxins. as far as exercise…

8# is an awesome loss for only 3 weeks! i know it's hard, but the rewards are sooo worth it. if you can push through, and keep at it, the tiredness will go away. eventually, you will have way more energy than ever before. i know i do. feel free to add me as a friend. i've found the more encouragement you have, the better.

i am doing this to avoid diabetes firstly, and i want to be around to see my 2 yr old grandson graduate high school, attend college, fall in love, have babies of his own! i am sick and tired of being a weakling, and want to be as strong as i know i can be!

1. see 185. that's only 3 lbs less than i am now, but i am going on vaca for 10 days starting next week, so it will be hard to stay on track. 2. get through all 6 circuits of my jillian michaels dvds. 3. motivate my mom to stay active & eat healthy.
-
very well put! thanks for the post.

i personally don't blog about myself, but i do find it motivational to read other peoples blogs. it helps me to see that there are ALOT of people in the same boat.
-
i agree completely with you on the walking/exercising! i too started up about a month ago, after being gone for about a year, and it's hard! it does get easier though, the more you do. feel free to add me, and hopefully we can encourage each other along the way.

i wouldn't log shopping or housecleaning. if it's part of my "normal" everyday routine, i don't log.
-
i would count what you intake from the time you get up til the time you go to bed each day. that's assuming you get some rest within each 24 hour period.
-
you are inspiring me! i am going to do the same thing, starting this week. don't think i'm brave enough to post the pics just yet though!!!

where do you have your arms positioned at? don't wrap your hands around your head, and force yourself up that way, cause that could cause pains. i keep my arms down at my sides and my feet tucked under the couch. start with 4 reps of 5-10 situps, and gradually increase the number. good luck!

yes! i don't think i could get by without mine. it's just a cheap-o one i bought on e-bay, but i think it's pretty accurate, and extremely helpful with portion control.
