Good morning runners! Welcome Jane. I am practically a neighbor. I live in north Austin. No run for me today, I did 15 min. on the eliptical as a warm up before doing my chest, tricep, and ab workout. Have a great day! JD

Good Morning runners! It was a beautiful morning for a run! It is finally cool enough that my head did not feel like it was going to explode, but still warm enough to be comfortable in shorts and t-shirt. I am looking forward to a little cooler weather, but I am grateful for a break from the oppressive heat. I ran 5 miles…

Hello runners, 3.5 miles for me this morning. Most of the run included gentle rolling hills, but also included one long extremely steep incline. My heart rate got to within 3bpm of my age predicted max even though I was moving at a snails pace on the uphill. Overall I felt really good this morning, even during the climb. I…

MFP friends, I want to share some good news with you!! For those new to runner's club I will give a brief medical history. Last Nov.16th I was diagnosed with coronary artery disease. I had 90% blockage in one heart artery and 50-60% in two others. They placed a stent to repair the 90% blockage and took a wait and see…

P90X Dude - What a cool service you are providing here!! I'm 54 and kicking butt on the P90X program and I am sore everywhere. What advise can you give me for that? Just kidding about being sore everywhere. The top of my head feels fine. I really do not need your expertise at the moment, but I wanted to give you your props…

WTG Sherry and good morning runners!! I ran 4.5 miles this morning. I envy those of you who have been talking about your cool morning runs. It is still warm and muggy in Texas. I guess I should not whine. In a couple of months my weather will still be nice while some of you will be freezing!! Shannon - Good luck with your…

I ran 3.5 miles very early this morning but we did not have cable at the new house until tonight. The computer is up and running again, and hopefully tomorrow morning I will be too!! WTG runners!! JD

We stayed at our new house last night. I went out for a short run this morning ( I still have moving to do). I have new places to run!!! There are small hills and big giant hills and flat areas all with in running distance. I can hit the hills if I want, or avoid them if I choose. I did get just a little lost this morning.…

3 miles for me this morning. One mile warm up and two miles at race pace. It felt really good. I think P90X has been whipping my legs into better shape. We are moving today. I hope to have enough energy left later for my core synergistic workout. Good job everyone and good luck to those who have not run yet. JD

Way to go with yoga P90X dude!! I have my program set up where Sunday is my yoga day. Sundays are also my long run day. I go for a long run at sun up and do yoga later in the day. It always makes me feel so much better. I struggle with some of the moves, but I "do my best" and you know the rest of that quote. Today was…

Good morning runners! I have not been posting much lately. I have been keeping up with my P90X workouts, but I have not been running as much as I would like. We have had our house on the market for several months and we finally have a buyer. It is a cash deal and they want us out by the end of the month, so I have been…

I trained for a marathon with USA Fit. They use a run/walk program very similar to what Galloway advocates. I injured my knee on my final training run (21 miles) and so I never finished the marathon. The run/walk system took me a little while to get used to. It seemed disruptive to the natural rhthym of running. I got used…

It amazes me how our perspectives change over time. areay did not need a long run so she JUST ran 8! I ran 3 miles this morning. I remember when 3 was a struggle. Now it is easy. Just what I needed to wake me up and get my day started. We have Terry and Shannon kicking butt on half marathons and Mireille well on her way.…

Wow!! That is great news!! Keep up the great work.

I too am a P90Xer. I am almost half way through the 90 days and I am loving the program. There is enough variety to minimize the boredom. I may not look like the guys on TV when I am done, but I am making good progress. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes. JD

Sorry but I do not understand why you would want to lose muscle. Losing muscle will not help you reduce your body fat %. Muscle, bones, organs, etc. are all part of fat free mass. You want to maintain or increase your FFM while losing fat to lower your body fat%.
