More women need to learn to lift like a man...8 lbs, and even 12 lbs is WAY too light! Heavy lifting will build muscle, burn fat, and you will look a lot better in the end. You won't bulk up like men do - we can't - we don't have the right hormones to do so. Even most men have a hard time gaining muscle. I suggest doing…

Too much cardio causes you to burn muscle and muscle is what burns fat...I wouldn't suggest overdoing the cardio.

I honestly can't think of anything I've given up completely. Not even Bailey's cheesecake! :drinker: If I want it, I make room for it. And it's more about what your food is made of...for instance, if I want pizza, I have pizza, but I make it myself with fresh/natural ingredients and a whole wheat crust...none of this…

Ha! That's awesome! I might have just nodded and smiled, but I'm a girl, and MOST girls don't have good sound effects anyway, so if I attempted a caveman grunt I might just sound like I was constipated...:blushing:

If that's your ONLY option, then it's not the worst thing ever - but I highly doubt that's really your only option. I prefer real food...

My husband and I love cereal, but it's hard to find a good one. We've literally spent 30 minutes at a time in the cereal aisle reading ingredient labels. So far we've found the best ones to be frosted mini wheats, cheerios, and crunchy nuggets (grape-nuts). We get ours at Wal-Mart and always get the Great Value brand.…

My finger! haha... Just kidding - if I use anything, I use organic stevia

I LOVE Mexican food, and when you go out for Mexican they always serve the chips and salsa on the house. I've been known (not recently!) to eat an entire basket just by myself...so now when we go out for Mexican, I definitely count my chips!

I'm in again. Fourth week for me. Missed the mark weeks 1-3, but I'm still trying!

Peer pressure. I had friends/co-workers that ran and looked great and I wanted to be like them and not just watch them! Plus I was 290# and knew I needed to make a positive change!

Shadow boxing is a great way to get in some cardio and burn some calories, and you can even do it sitting down if your knees give you too much trouble.

I usually saute mine in olive oil, a little bit of salt, and some garlic and minced onions. YUM!!

Awesome job, and proof that gimmicks are not necessary! Thanks for sharing!!

I agree with the above posters. Don't try to go too fast too soon or you'll just end up hurting yourself. Good job getting fitted for good shoes - that's the first step to making any running progress. C25K is great if you are working toward a 5K, but if you can already run a 5K and are just wanting to get faster, try hill…

Aside from the fact that Chris Powell is GORGEOUS, I still prefer Extreme Makeover. Chris actually teaches them how to change their habits, which is the root of the problem. They don't change just physically, but emotionally, too, and emotions are a lot of why people eat like they do. Each episode is centered around the…
