A lot of lower belly fat has more to do with nutrition than exercise. I'd suggest researching a bit and see if you can't tweak your diet a little to help out in this area.

I used to curse at my wii fit everytime she told me that - and then we sold it!

8 pounds to goal isn't NEAR?? I'd say 8 pounds is pretty close!! Either way - keep up the great work! By the time you're done with 6 months of weight training - those size 6's will be history for sure!!

My husband and I were leaving Wal-Mart one evening and someone yelled out of their car at me "Want another biscuit?" and another time I was running through my neighborhood and some white trash crack head guy yelled "Run, run..." as he made some stupid limping motion. I was PISSED both times and had a few choice words both…

Is it an actual 18, or do they fit more like 14's? :ohwell: I've found that some stores run REALLY small, but now that I'm getting down to where I might actually be able to fit into some department store clothes, I don't really know what size I am...

Carla!! You're so close to 10 lbs!!!! And congrats to sbeckum91 for already hitting the 10lb mark!!!! You all are doing awesome - keep it up!!!

Tomorrow is weigh in day! If today was Thanksgiving for you, don't stress too much if the number on the scale is higher than you expected - I guarantee it's the sodium, so it's SUPER important for you to drink LOTS of water in the next few days and flush out that sodium!!! Final mini-challenge: Finish out those 100 miles…

I'd be interested to find some good ones, too. My husband was taking one of the yoga classes at our gym, but they consolidated it with another class and he can't go because of the timing now. It's also really good cross-training for my running, so I know I need to be doing it, too.

Turkey Trot challengers - I know that for many of you tomorrow is Thanksgiving - but PLEASE make healthy decisions!! You have a weigh in on Friday...don't sabotage it just because the rest of America is...

One of the best investments I ever made. BUT - I don't work out with my trainer. I go in and see her once a month, she looks over my MFP food/exercise diary, guides me in what workouts I need to do, checks my weight and my measurements, answers any questions I might have, etc...then sends me off on my merry way. I didn't…

I shoot for 72oz. (3 of my water bottles), but I'd like to eventually get up to 100oz. Half my body weight would be about 110, but I've been told NOT to drink over 100oz. per day or you might be flushing out good stuff, too.

I don't believe there is such a thing as negative calorie food. ALL food affects your body in one way or another. Even if it's incredibly low calorie, it still has sugar, fiber, protein, etc...that needs to be factored in.

I think we have the same one! lol

I've always been told 1,200 BEFORE exercise. If your net is less than 1,200, that's fine as long as it's not WAY under every day. I consistently net below 1,200, consistently lose weight, but never consume less than 1,200.

I have a Perfect Portions digital scale. I LOVE it. It comes with a booklet that has tons of foods pre-programmed into it and also has memory to where you can store your own foods if it's not in the database already, then when you actually weigh your food it has a display that shows all the nutrition facts for that…

If you have the GPS enabled Garmin, I don't think the footpod is necessary at all. I have the footpod because mine isn't GPS, but my husband has a GPS model and doesn't ever have to use the footpod. Maybe it's only necessary if you're on a treadmill because then the GPS wouldn't read any mileage?

It's well worth the investment. I have a Garmin FR60, and although it's not one of the GPS models, I absolutely LOVE it. You can actually find the straps for cheaper than $70 if you look around. My spin instructor found one for about $30 and it was brand new...from buy.com maybe - can't remember. Either way - Garmin's…

If you do tri's on a regular basis, I'd go with the 310xt even though it costs more - less mess during transition and you don't have to worry about remembering to switch. Transition can make all the difference sometimes!

Minor Service Announcement: This is the last monthly challenge I will be doing - at least for a while. I'm participating in a few other challenges both here on MFP and outside MFP and I really need to take this time to focus on my own weight loss right now. I appreciate all of you and wish you all the best. Now let's…

I think it really depends on your activity level and how your body has adjusted to it thus far. If you're an endurance athlete, you may be having fertility problems because of it.…

Random question from the somewhat ingnorant one: I know what LGBT stands for, but why is there a + after it? I've seen that a lot here lately and don't understand the significance.

Trying to what? Why would you stop exercising?

I think it's on the last post of pg 8 of this thread.

Absolutely take your own food! I have some friends that we get together with almost every weekend and they eat...well...not so healthy as I'd like to. I've gotten to the point that if we eat at there house I just bring my own meal. I've talked to them about it and they realize that it's nothing against their food, I just…

What an awesome birthday present to yourself!!! Congratulations and happy birthday!!!

Never trust the scale around your period. You retain water. Give it a few days, drink plenty of water, and you'll see it move soon. Don't be mad about it - it happens to all of us women.
