The problem with sweeteners is that they're chemically made and cause your body to retain weight - the more natural you can go, the better. My personal trainer told me to use stevia or xylitol, but stevia is cheaper and it doesn't take as much to make it sweet. Xylitol does taste more like sugar, though.

If you know actual mileage, I would use that.

I post on my MFP status or in a thread what I have and try to find someone that is in that size that could use my good clothes.

Nutella is amazing, but has way too much unnatural stuff in it. Try natural peanut butter - one in which the only ingredient is peanuts.

Go to a whole foods store and look for organic stevia. I actually found one that was caramel flavored stevia and was AMAZING in coffee. The regular stevia works, too, though - just be sure to get the good stuff...no Stevia in the Raw or Truvia.

Welcome to MFP! You'll love it here! :flowerforyou:

MFP will adjust your calories as you lose weight - I think mine re-adjusted about every 10 lbs or so. Once you reach your goal, you don't need a calorie deficit because you're not trying to lose weight anymore. You'll then be in maintenance and will just need to net whatever your maintenance calories are.

I use it all the time - it's what my personal trainer told me to use. Artificial sweeteners supposedly cause your body to retain weight. She told me to use stevia or xylitol. Stevia is cheaper and it doesn't take as much to make it sweet. Be sure to get the good stuff, though...Stevia in the Raw and Truvia don't really…

Get good running shoes!!! Most running stores will do a free gait analysis and find the shoe that's right for you.

Haha - helps if I actually post it on here and not just on the spreadsheet! Mini-challenges will typically run Friday - Thursday and I will post a new mini-challenge each Thursday. Since the challenge started on a Tuesday, the mini-challenges won't officially start until Friday November 4th, but if you want to start early…

My personal trainer tells me not to eat back all of my exercise calories, and thus far, it's worked for me. If you're hungry, then eat, if you're not, then don't. And are you using MFP's calculations for calories burned, or are you using a heart rate monitor? I don't really trust MFP's numbers all that much. You may not…

Ah! Those kind of tips! Do shorter runs during the week with some speed work/hill work to improve your speed and a longer run on the weekend to improve your endurance. Check out runnersworld.com or jeffgalloway.com for some speed/hill work exercises. Also - cross train on the days that you don't run. Lifting weights and…

Ok, guys and gals...tomorrow starts our November Turkey Trot 10 lb Challenge!! You ready for this?! Be sure you have gone to the spreadsheet link in the first post of this thread and added your name and starting weight. If I don't have a starting weight for you by our first weigh-in (this Friday - November 4) you will be…

Go to the spreadsheet link in my first post of this thread and add your name and starting weight to it. Then just start racking up your miles and log your weight and miles every Friday!!
-
It should be listed in your "My Topics" tab in the message boards. If you lose it, just search the forums for "November Turkey Trot".
-
I would suggest some type of aerobics - the impact would depend on how much effort you put in to it.
-
 So sorry to hear this! I'm glad you chose to stick around with us, though. :flowerforyou:
-
No limit to the number of challengers - welcome aboard! Just be sure to enter your name and weight on the spreadsheet.
-
Absolutely!!

I hope everyone has had a chance to enter their final October weight and I hope everyone enjoyed this month's challenge. Congratulations to DebsHernandez, hello_jen, jmp1079, and neenaj33 for reaching the 10 lb. And a special kudos to neenaj33 for losing 14 pounds!!! Great job, everyone. I hope you'll all join me for my…

As far as re-heating...try cubing sweet potatoes and steaming them instead. I LOVE steamed sweet potatoes and will make enough for my lunches on Sunday and they seem to re-heat just fine all week long.

Haven't tried it - never will. All I'll say about it is do your homework...

I'm just not buying candy. I won't be home, so there's no reason for me to buy any to give out.

Thanks for sharing - I have a friend who has been looking for a good butternut squash recipe. I'll have to try it and see how it is!

I naturally have an acid imbalance in my stomach and can't eat anything with to much citric acid - oranges, tomatoes, pineapple, grapefruit - anything like that. If I do, I have to be sure and balance it out with some bread or something starchy - if not then it makes me incredibly nauseous. Zantac was also what my doctor…
