As long as you are eating enough, I'd not worry about it yet. It should slow down to "normal" quickly. If you are still losing like that in a week or two, you need to reevaluate what you are doing.

If you are extremely overweight you'll be able to get by with "eyeing it" for a while, but as you get closer to your goal, you really should get a scale. I would just buy one, they really aren't that expensive.

2 lbs is a lot to gain in less than a week. Are you near ovulation or your period? Everyone is different but a lot of us put on some water weight at one or both of these times.

I must admit, I'm a bit confused. Your title says you hit a plateau but your post seems to imply that you are just unhappy that you aren't losing 5 lbs a week anymore. So are you losing slower or not losing at all? If it's losing slower, you need to accept that. 5 lbs a week is not a sustainable loss. The lower your weight…

I'm a little more than 50 down now and so far, no loose skin. But I'm still fairly young. I really need to get this off sooner rather than later to minimize my chances.

When I go over, I log the extra calories into the next day. That way I eat a bit less the next day and it balances out.

I was close to 30 pounds down before I noticed a difference. I wouldn't have noticed at all if it wasn't for taking pictures and measurements to compare. In fact, I look in the mirror now and I see the same me I seen before but I look at the pictures or the measuring tape and there is a major difference.

The first fat you will lose is around your organs so you won't see that. After that, it could come from anywhere/everywhere. I had lost around 30 pounds before before I finally seen a difference (in pictures, I still look the same to me in the mirror), and it was from my back! There was a massive difference, rolls where…

No, it causes even more self hatred and (if repeated enough) strains the relationship you have with the person. I can still vividly remember a few comments my mom made when I was young. I wasn't even overweight then, she was just upset because the piece of cake I took was too big. It certainly never stopped me from gaining…

I love reading, and occasionally commenting, in the forums. I've "tried" friends two different times and they are just not for me. Not to sound mean, but I don't want to feel obligated to "like" someone's 652 calories burned in 12 minutes of 2 mph walking downhill (yes, I've seen some ridiculous stuff). I also don't want…

He's about 5'9", 108 lbs and 23 years old. I have no idea what his current intake is but not very much. If I had to guess, I'd say around 1000 calories a day. He totally loses his appetite a lot of times (he's already been checked out several times by a few different doctors), so I'm trying to find a way to get a lot of…

Looking amazing! You look like you could be your own daughter!

There is a listing for it in your food diary. It gives you negative calories.

I haven't logged exercise in a long time but when I did, I would only eat back a maximum of 50% as they always seemed to be overestimated, sometimes by a lot.

You are doing fantastic!

I'm the cook so it's not really a problem of not knowing what I'm going to make, so much as how much I'm going to eat! This is an amazing idea and I think I'm going to start logging my dinner as breakfasts so that I know how many extra calories I have to "play" with for the 24 hour period. Will help me a lot from ending up…

I second the app. It has saved my sanity, especially with "recent foods".

My "cheat days" or whatever you want to call them, consist of me eating like any other day, I always eat what I want as long as it's reasonable and fits in my calories. The difference being that I don't log anything and just try to guesstimate my total. I try to keep it to 1500 calories (mfp has me on 1200, that's with a…

I do. I'm not the type to get discouraged by the daily fluctuations and I love seeing what's going on. It gives me peace lol.

I was wondering about that. I didn't know if it would make them gross or not have any difference. Thanks

My back. I was getting so frustrated that the scale was going down, by a lot, but there was no change in the mirror or pictures until I seen my back on day and what a difference!
-
Congratulations, that's great!

Yes, it's totally normal. If you ate something really salty you can experience this but also around ovulation and your period it can happen too. I gain like 5 pounds, sometimes a bit more, of water weight at these times. So annoying but don't be discouraged. Whether it's salt or biology, it will go soon.

You could find something to do with your hands that you don't need to use too much mental power for such as knitting or crocheting. As long as you aren't working on an intricate pattern, you won't have a problem to do it while watching tv.

I had mine out 12 years ago. Never had a special diet or any problems with any foods. My mom can't handle peanut butter after her's was out. I think everyone is different. My step=grandmother insisted she "had to" eat every two hours after her's was out. Lol. She just liked to eat.
