  • I make the absolutely best scones in the world...No. Really. And having this information can be like knowing how to build a nuclear weapon. So, just think. I have all the ingredients in my pantry and fridge too. How easy it would be to . .. . OH but I digress. You ate them. So what. Give the rest away to someone else you…
  • Me too. And I like it that way. I don't have to be a food Nazi about it. I even have had CAKE (more than once) and still keep losing.
  • GP. Even further. Sorry.
  • Okay, I just went and did it to make sure I was telling you right. Enter your strength training under cardio. It's there. I use it every day.
  • 1/2 Cup vanilla non fat frozen yogurt 3/8 Cup frozen raspberries 1 TB Hershey's lite chocolate syrup Calories 145 Fat 0 Decadent, healthy, it cuts the sweet cravings for me and I feel satisfied afterwards.
  • I still have a ways to go, and you are VERY close and that may be why those last seven are hanging on (the last 10 can take up to a year--sorry), but the cycling works for me. As well, don't drink alcohol. It sooo impedes the fat burning process. If you do like a drink now and then, save it for something special, and then…
  • My husband kept the t shirt I cried mascara tears on the week of finals. He really loves me for him to have stuck it out with me during that year. I was a mess. But let me tell you...so worth it.
  • Here is a different name: Caloric Cycling. I do it, and I discovered when I hit a plateau, here is what I do: Day 1--1200 cal/mostly cardio workout at fat-burning level (30-55 minutes depending on how I feel and how much time I have) Day 2--1600 cal/mostly weights with cardio cool down and I do this hitting UP TO 1600 on…
  • Okay, I don' t have my PhD. BUT, I got my MA in one year with three kids at home (one of them TWO years old). Blood, sweat, and tears, and it is ALL worth it. Tough it out.
  • Sounds good. I am so there. I have a runny nose, and my eyes itch so bad I might have to take out my contacts and put on my glasses (not a good look for me), and I feel the curse (my period) coming on. What I want to eat, though, are truffles. Big fat chocolate truffles full of beautiful creamy dark chocolate. And then I…
  • He (or she) might eat it and be fat. Do you really want to do that?? He might find you here!
  • Just don't throw it at THAT person!
  • My mother used the old saying, "Let it run off your shoulders like water on a duck's back." So now, we have a saying in our family, "Oh, that's just duck talk." So when someone starts the negative blahblahblah, just say, out loud if you need to (don't worry, most people don't get it), "OH, that's just duck talk," and walk…
  • OKAY! Today's weight: 171 YESSSS! Two weeks = 4 pounds. The week before I gained one. So really, I had to lose that one as well. Can I count yesterdays' weight? I weighed 170!
  • Running doesn't like me, so I am WAAAAYYY impressed!
  • Don't you feel like you have to have a flat butt to wear some of those things? I like my curvy body, and don't want to be a carpenter's dream! Especially some of the shorts now, I think they don't make them with enough fabric through the hind end. Hmmm. Heroine chic. Yuck. I would rather be healthy, muscular, and fabulous…
  • I just want to say, I bought jeans THREE sizes smaller today. I got all teary-eyed in the dressing room. I haven't been this size for around 8 years. My husband has been losing with me, and actually felt guilty getting smaller jeans, until I convinced him. THEN, leaving the store, we saw an old friend. I bragged about how…
  • Exercise bands. Look for them at athletic stores, and WalMart or Target. They are just a few bucks, and will get you through. I know how you feel. I am getting ready to go on vacation with my kids and wish I could bring my gym with me!
  • TIMISW! Exactly! Only my crutch was rum and coke!
  • Ugg. Up one. My oldest son turned sixteen last week, I had TWO barbecues to attend on Saturday, and I hurt my neck/shoulder sometime in there. It's on the mend now, but I JUST polished off the last of the birthday cake. I actually put it in the freezer and told my self, "self, if you still want it when you get home from…
  • The Body Sculpting Bible for Women can be purchased at Barnes and Noble, where I got mine. But I bought my husband the men's version on half.com. He was working out with his own plan, but when I got him the book, he said it was "kicking his butt" and he is pretty studly already! I LOVE this workout. I am very much a solo…
  • I'm in. I can't recall the dates, but I will go with what I think is right. Starting Weight (before mfp, even): 192 Today's Weight: 175 Two Months: 165 Ending Goal: 145 Using Body Sculpting Bible for Women for exercise and Caloric Cycling for my diet. I eat between 1200 and 1600 calories a day. I am currently wearing pants…
  • My boys are 16, 11, and 5. I do remember those nice 1 am nights dancing in the kitchen. Now get some rest so your body can burn up more of those calories, and so you can be awake when she wakes up (probably at 5 am, as MY luck would have it!)
  • The trainer I see says light cardio first (10 minute warm up), weights, and then if you are going to do a big cardio workout, do it last. His reasoning is if you exhaust your muscles before strength training, you won't get as good a workout and may not be able to lift as much or as many.
  • Also, once you do what MsLadybug said, you can enter, say, a tenth of the recipe (10 servings and you ate one), and then save THAT as a meal calling it "Recipe Name" (single serving).
  • I have done exactly the same thing, but have lost zero pounds. You should take a day off, enjoy a food you don't usually allow yourself, drink plenty of water, and then start again the next day, only make sure you are eating enough. Your body is adjusting to the exercise and diet changes, and what you need to do is change…
