I apologise if anyone has already said this, I haven't read anyone else's reply's yet. You MUST Include your "splurge " day in the diary. that way you'll really see how it affects your intake of Calories, and maybe motivate you into "re-thinking" your "splurge" amount. Some people wont see a change in weight for a month,…

Ow, thanks guys!

nope. I closed the tag, it recognised the "close" as it removed/hid it when I submitted. I just read another post by a forum admin that you have to re-size your images externally to post them on the forum. which is a bit silly, all they need to do is tick the "allow image resize" in the config OR install the resize plugin…

I found this -> http://www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators.html It has a good explination for every Diet Buzz-Acronim

I log all my binge, I also make my friends log their binge. We still binge. But have cut it down to a few bickies with tea and compensate. Log your binge :) The theory is, if your disciplined enough to log your binge, then you have a physical record of where your going wrong. I find People tend to change if they can "SEE"…

yes. I read it here too http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2012/07/kinect-playfit-launches-today-to-track-your-calories-as-you-dance-in-front-of-your-telly/ http://majornelson.com/2012/07/10/kinect-playfit-launches-today/ we should bump this topic or get the admin to make it sticky. Finally we can log the correct Calorie extimates…

Cholesterol too high (6.7), back pains, leg pains, chest pains, achy arms, fingers blagh blagh. 5 different Quacks over 8 years thought I had anklyospondilitus, sciatica, bad thyroids and osteoarthritis. And every time the Quacks weighed me they said "well.. your not Obese". 4 trips to an osteopath last year, for a bending…

I havent read any of the replays so sorry if this has been repeated. I have higly recommended XBox360+Kinect for months now. Your Shape:FE is by far the best work out game/program. (as seen on "the Gadget Show Fitness reviews") Without sounding to much like a PR geek, and to keep it short, I help run an online Media games…

There is good stuff here -> http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/Obesity-in-Children.htm They explain different ways you can help your child and how to be tactful but sympathetic about it.
-
I agree. As a parent you should take FULL responsibility for your child and there eating habbits. Even if they eat junk at school -make a pack lunch and discipline the flippin school!! It makes me grind my teeth when "parents" say "oh but my child helps themselves to food in the fridge/cupboard, etc,". Seriously! Get a…

FYI, I am concerned for a friend's kids. I have found some good references here - http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/Obesity-in-Children.htm And (even though BMI is just a guideline) The NHS have an excellent BMI calculator that takes Age into consideration, and calculates a Child's BMI as a centile Percentage.…

tastless without sweetner. I have a 72cal Recipe here for those who are interested in sweet but without guilt. As endorsed by Top chef Antony Worrall Thompson: "It's still possible to enjoy your Shrove Tuesday pancakes whilst reducing the calories piled on through added sugar." For the Batter Mixture: (serves 4)4oz…

There is also Honey. Honey is a good sugar substitute. natural, virtually NO fat, and its a detoxing agent.

Mines a KFC.

sugar is bad. Its so high in energy that your body will burn this off first as its already ready to go. and the rest of your food it stores as fat. I myself have a little bit of a sweet tooth, but I have halved my sugar intake by making my own Ice Cream, cakes, treats, etc, with "SilverSpoon: Half Spoon" sugar. or "Simply…

I do plan my meals when I can. its only a few times I actually go WAY under the limit :)

Maybe I exaggerated about the metabolism switching off, if you took me literally... Sorry about that. My Doctor told me I need to avoid certain food groups in the evenings and defiantly NO RED MEAT in the evenings, because my body's metabolism slows down in the evenings and the calories (or whatever) from theses types of…

I've been waiting for a year :( I have shared so many good recipe's, but no one can see them.

Not the Wii. "Wii fit" is also bollo**s. The BMI is based on the average Japanese person, and without sounding racists, most of them are 4ft nothing and skinny. There was an uproar across europe about "Wii Fit" telling Kids that they were "fat" and "Overweight", when in fact they was not, and causing teen's to diet…
-
BMI is boll**ks. Throw it, its different for everyone, and most of the calculators/rules you find online or in books are rubbish. I got my BMI done by both a qualified fitness trainer and a Doctor. They both used an electronic machine that (by my knowledge) measures the fat/water lvls (or something like that, I don't…

Had to reply to this one quickly. So I'm sorry if someone has already mentioned/suggested it. Feeling tired in the mornings after a nights sleep is usually a sign of a sleeping disorder, or sleep apnea. And Reaching for the sugar bars or even Coffee (as some people have mentioned) IS BAD! All it does is fuel the problem.…

I have the same issue, great abs, puppy fat. I just gotta keep with the diet. unfortunately my lifestyle and work, I don't have time to nip to the Gym, and my house is too small for weights. The XBox Kinect and walking 40min to and from work keeps me exercised Lol, very Phallic. "Cup them balls boy!"

Even though your metabolism is next to nothing, that just means your body will store Fat rather than burn it. if you eat less at your current state, your body will just learn to store more fat rather than burn it off... Normally I would suggest You need to Exercise a little to kick start your metabolism.... BUT because of…
-
LOL, I didn't read what "nyctraveler" wrote, but yea, she's right. and "Tujitsu56" is right too. 1000 cal is defiantly seriously bad for your health. You body will enter a form of "Shock" which will cause you to burn little energy and store lots of FAT. You will feel tired all the time and start to sleep during the day.
-
How long have you been trying? Are you eating the right amount at the right times? Do you exercise too much? You joined in October, if its your first time dieting with this app, It doesn't happen over night. Some people metabolisms are screwed during there first month at dieting this way because there body's don't know…
