/endthread Seriously, I am a believer that what (not just how much) you eat matters. But that's a big argument for another thread... Find what works for you

@BullyMomma - yeah. The best advice I've seen is that you weigh your pot/pan before you cook in it. Then weigh the total recipe in the pan, subtract the weight of the pan itself (essentially a manual tare). Then you can divide the total weight of the recipe by the number of servings you'd like to portion out. It's a pain,…

Yep! I can see it all over! Great work! I love/hate that my clothes are all too big!

+1 *rolling eyes* If you're weighing yourself once every week or two and using a tape measure once a month, and not being silly with eating 500+ calories in excess a day, you're going to see it, whether or not you're "advanced or knowledgeable about burns." (Please define "burn" for me, too...) Lifting to develop even a…

Start lifting. You're not going to get the instant massive extra calories that you're after, but it will help your resting metabolism, allowing you to eat a bit more without fat gains!

I am in constant discomfort due to tight IT band (particularly on the right leg) when I am working out hard and consistently. Stretching, foam rolling, yoga, and chiropractic adjustments (all with regularity) give me some relief. Make sure you're stretching your inner groin (opposing muscles) in addition to the outside of…

Clover40, your most recent post is that you have actually *lost* weight eating slightly more. Honestly, that is not totally far-fetched. I would recommend that you stay away from the scale for a few weeks. A better approach from the beginning might have been using a tape-measure. But at 112 (or whatever you're at now) and…

I think it's different for everyone whether you choose to log things like this or not. I have my activity level set to "sedentary" so I do log cleaning and food prep when it's more than like 15 minutes (I typically prepare a big meal or clean a big batch of fruit or veggies once a week). I do agree that you should…

Thanks so much for posting! I loved a lot of what you said - lose weight the way you want to maintain. I have definitely been slow on this process, but I am much more hopeful that I'll be able to maintain. Thank you for the encouragement and honesty. I think I'm going to have to make MFP (or other tracking) a part of my…

Great thread. I am 5'4.5", 31 y/o, and just hit 150 (yay!). I had originally set my goal to 147 (the top of the "normal" BMI range, just to see what that looked like), and have been working out doing a lot of strength and circuit training, with 1-2 more intense cardio workouts a week. I am also hoping to get pregnant soon,…

And a very happy birthday to your wife, indeed! Yowza!

It's been said before but I really think it bears repeating: MFP is an excellent tool for tracking. Determine your BMR, TDEE, and caloric goal (and macro goals if your want) using other resources.

If you actually want to engage in a real conversation about this issue, I'll leave this link here: Why the Phrase ‘Skinny B*tches’ Isn’t Nearly as Problematic as You Think It Is http://everydayfeminism.com/2014/09/skinny-b*tches/ (You may have to refresh the link if you get a 404 error - the last word in the url is the…

From your photo and profile, you only started out wanting to lose 12 lbs. And you have "2 to go." "Last resort" for what? I would tend to think that you're probably within your goal range right now. Yes, too much dairy for an adult is a problem. It has a fair amount of saturated fat. I personally eat a low-ish carb,…

Your face appearing swollen or abnormally full could be a sign of another medical condition, such as Crohns or Celiacs. Or you could be retaining a lot of water. Or it could be nothing as others have suggested. See a Dr if you're concerned.

Thanks for posting the comment above and the original recipe, OP! I only have some stevia packets at home. I will try with three packets and 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract.
-
Congrats! I always think of a "size 6" as being super tiny or like 120 lbs or less. I have truly learned from this site that body recomp and strength work will show much more significant results in size and inches than what the number on the scale says! Keep up the great work.
-
First, congrats on your loss - that is awesome! How are you measuring? How are your clothes fitting? What is your starting weight and height? Unless you had a 51 lb tumor extracted, I fail to see how this is possible.

bump... near future. for future reference, if you're ordering me to put something tasty in my mouth, you're welcome to be bossy... :D
-
Bump. Great thread. Thanks for the responses thus far. Surprised (Not surprised?) at how many folks are saying they still log regularly.
-
Oops, sorry I didn't respond sooner. I went 4 days/week two of the weeks, and 5 days/week two of the weeks. Supplemented with yoga and walking the days I didn't go.

Check out the link I posted above! It's at the Four Seasons Golf Center (in the dome) on Broad Street in East Columbus. Really convenient to Gahanna, Whitehall, and Reynoldsburg.
-
Amazing! That is a LOT of weight in just 5 months! Sounds like you're doing the right things. Be patient with yourself if you start hitting plateaus. Congratulations on your hard work!

It's an ongoing bootcamp! The next session will start Sept. 8 I think! xtremefitnesscolumbus.com/ This is the third session I've done (not consecutively) over about 18 mo. time frame. Consistent results!

Thank you!

Fantastic! Your positivity and optimism are contagious! Great work!

You look great - very handsome :D Congrats on the results of your hard work!
