  • Oh ok thanks everyone! Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a fit bit thing! Thanks for the help. She is well on her way to her new lifestyle! :)
  • She is older than me by about 15 years and also smaller than My by about 15 pounds...the number came from MFP But she is alot more active than me due to the nature of her job.
  • I used to do this with my mom as we found it super fun and super hilarious. Yes was a good workout And always made my abs sore! Good sore :)
  • I love it too! One of the reasons I gained so much I would just make a sandwich with 2 tbsp each! Now I understand and just use half a tbsp and it satisfies me :) There is something in that stuff!!
  • Took my body 6 weeks to adjust just be patient
  • I did this at 10 pounds lost. Not for the plateau just to eat more! I ate at Maintenance and still logged. Nothing wrong with not losing a pound one week. Actually once I did this it was very easy to go back to the deficit. But I don't believe it helps with any plateaus. You may need to adjust calories in/out.
  • I always wondered this as well...I lost 30 pounds about 4 years ago simply by eating well (no fast food) and exercising. It was simple and easy. Now after a baby it doesn't work that way anymore...I think your metabolism in some people is just different. My fiends eats like Crap and has always been thin..however thinking…
  • This was me when I joined. I was beyond starving I couldn't take it. I realized my goal of 1550 may be realistic but when my body was used to eating well over 2300 (hence weight gain) I realized I needed to eat to that goal slowly. Over 5 weeks I was able to get to 1550 and my body adjusted. Take A few weeks at a higher…
  • Thanks! I needed that :) End of thread haha Never meant to ask 4 times...technology lol
  • Do you think 1 lb a week is too much for me. I would like to lose 20 more? I actually want to get back to myself in the pic here 145 and I am now 164. 5'3

  • Thank you! Yes i got a measuring tape last week since I was getting too focused on the darn scale! Pounds mean nothing when I just want to lose sizes. I think that is why I will add in 100 cal I have been very good at logging for 9 weeks now and I think I need more fuel. I want to make sure this is a lifestyle change so I…
  • You're very helpful!
  • Ok I think I understand that but I realized I am not using the tdee method I am just using MFP method based on daily activity exclusive of my intense exercise...this is why I was confused that it gave me the same amount as what my bmr comes to...anyhow I understand the tdee now but choose not to use this!
  • Ok I guess I had the wrong definition for tdee. my level of 2050 cals is my maintenance level not my tdee. And my cals to lose is 1550 (1 lb) which is the same Number as my bmr lol That was my confusion
  • Use the scale and make your plan the day before or that morning then weight it before you go out. If I pack a lunch I weigh it and its very fast.
  • I would definenitly go with the number MFP gives and eat back 50-75% of cals. Sometimes people eat way to little for so long their body's just get into a rut...rev up your metabolism by eating more. It took my body 6 weeks to adjust to eating less (opposite of you) but showed me it can take time. I've noticed people on…
  • Yes makes sense thank you! I guess my body just likes to be hungry hehe plus with a child I think I burn more than I thought...I will continue with the added 100 a day and reasses in a few weeks' thanks everyone :)
  • And if I am bring honest i am a little on edge with the family some days..but I really want to lose !
  • Yes I have a 2.5 year old who keeps me active 4 days a week then I'm Sitting in an office 3 I chose lightly active (not including the gym) This gave me a 1550 calorie amount I'm losing a pound a week if I stick too it but its hard with being busy all day so I upped it to 1650? Thought?
  • Some don't say this was so I just use the measuring cup/spoon but it's not as accurate :(
  • It says my maintenance level with no exercise and no weight loss is 2100 so to lose a pound I eat 1600...
  • Oh and I have learned to think before I eat ! What could I eat that's a better choice or will fill me up? I've learned that when I gain weight it doesn't mean it's all over and to give up but to work harder. I've learned MFP is awesome!
  • If the label says half a cup or tbsp how do you measure on the scale ?
  • 5'4 and 164 and size 12. I was always between 135 and 145 before baby and always a 8. Hope to get back there!
  • Thanks again everyone! Very happy with MFP and I find it very easy but I don't want to get consumed by being on a diet so I thought maintenance eating for a week or maybe a few days would be nice. So thank you to all!
  • I choose this forum specifically but yes I am losing.
  • Thanks for all the comments!! Is there a way to notify you when you get comments as I did not even see this until I went on the computer and checked... Anyways yes what I meant was I am at a 500 cal deficit and every now and then just eat at maintenance but still log. (Ie eat those 500) No weight would be gained or lost.…
