Thank you! The 1000 calories seemed to be from my activity (steps) but it is obviously too much. Mfp os saying I had burned 945 calories from 'exercise' when I haven't burned any! I should have about 900 of my 1400 calories left but mfp is saying I have 1700 left! That would bring me over my tdee. I'll check out the link…

Anecdotally, I find that if don't eat breakfast (and similarly on fast days when I used to 5:2) my brain feels 'fuzzy' and unclear and it's difficult to concentrate.

The middle picture there is definitely a visible difference. Did you take any measurements?

First day of my holiday today, back September 4th

I'm in the UK, we haven't broken up for summer yet!

Yes you need to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. This includes the calories you burn to stay alive (your BMR). Myfitnesspal will tell you how many calories to eat for weight loss when you input your details.

Fitbit doesn't sync well with mfp in my experience. Every step, that is usually already accounted for by mfp comes up as exercise calories, it drives me mad, as I then have to manually work out my actual net calories. I've stopped using my fitbit atm.

Yes, still a way to go but its a psychological boost to help us stay motivated

If that's you in your avatar, you look small, 3lb loss a week would only really be viable in people with a very high starting weight

If I'm below 1200 it still lets me complete the day, it just warns me to eat more
