Congratulations on 4 years sober! Food addiction is totally different than alcoholism, because you can't just quit food. Logging everything, even if I go way over my calories, helps me. Usually it's not THAT bad and being consistent with logging keeps me moving forward.

Sorry, just realized the original post was from 2009.

Be careful with tonic water, 12oz has 124 calories. I like vodka with soda water or plain water and lemon wedges.

Clif bars are super tasty! They're like cookies, haha. I have Larabars in my desk at work, they taste okay, but they're not anything I get excited about eating.

I use Hood Country Creamer. It's totally unnatural, but it's 15 calories per tablespoon, and it makes coffee really creamy. https://www.hood.com/products/country-creamer/

I like to bring dinner leftovers or a lunch meat sandwich with carrots and hummus. Sometimes I'll make burrito bowls - rice, black beans, chicken, corn, and salsa.

There's a livingsocial deal for it today - $39. It's under Cleveland - citywide.

Do you mean out of a vending machine?

I've had the UPC scan pull up a completely different item, I just double check everything. I go by what the package says.
-
If you're making it yourself, I'd enter each item seperately. X amount of chicken, X amount of celery, X amount of mayo. It will be more accurate. If you're eating store bought chicken salad and you eat 1/2 a cup, just put 0.5 in the # of servings for 1 cup.

Milk & I don't get along, either. Most people I know have problems with dairy after becoming an adult, I think it's normal. Try unsweetened vanilla almond milk in your cereal, it's tasty. This is copy & pasted from the mayo clinic website: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/lactose-intolerance/DS00530/DSECTION=causes Normal…

There's nothing wrong with Bud Light! Yeah, it's not a heavy full flavor beer, but it's enjoyable on hot days. Since I've been eating less I've not been able to drink as much beer, it fills me up. And I can get sloppy drunk really fast! What a joy.

4 vanilla wafers are 70 calories, approx. 100 calories for pudding, a medium banana is around 105, and cool whip free is 15 calories for 2 tbsp... under 300 calores for a pretty large individual portion. It's not a health food, but it's not TOO bad.

I tried the southwest one and thought it was really gross. The vegetables were mushy and watery. It was weird putting hot vegetables on cold lettuce, too.
-
I understand what you mean about seeing extra calories left over. I set my target a couple hundred higher than what i should and then I have no problem getting to my minimum. It's all mental. Probably crazy. Lol

You can get a decent pair of jeans for like $20 at Old Navy if you wait for sales.
-
The only things I don't weigh or measure are lettuce and spinach. I've been doing this for 2 months (well, on and off my whole life) and I still can't eyeball anything accurately.

I leave the office at lunch time when everyone's eating takeout. I eat my lunch at my desk then go to the store or walk around or something.
-
I just drink it plain. I've tried it in coffee, not my favorite.
-
My friends are the same way. I always check out the menu before I go and usually find something. Chain restaurants are easy, but my favorite local ones are harder. And an unexpected bonus...I start feeling alcohol a lot faster now, so that saves calories :)

Congratulations on your new baby girl! It will be great for her to grow up with a mommy who can teach her healthy habits :)

Go Browns! You look great!

I can drink black coffee, but I prefer it with creamer. I'll sometimes use fat free half & half with an artificial sweetener, but I found this soy creamer from Organic Valley that's 25 calories a tbsp and I love it. It's creamier than the sugar free creamers I've tried with just a few more calories.

You can make English muffin breakfast sandwiches in advance and just heat them up on busy mornings. Eggs, cheese, turkey bacon or sausage... It takes some time on a weekend, but it's worth it. Do you have a crock pot? Skinnytaste.com has a recipe called Chicken Santa Fe that's really good.

Congratulations on beating cancer AND the engagement!

Happy Birthday! You look great! That's some brave red hair in the first picture... I like it.
