Before and during ... still got a long way to go. I'm 5ft 11 and began losing weight in mid January 2014.

That is bloody amazing! Fantastic job!

Thanks for all the compliments guys! My (male) colleague at work told me I'm now "looking hot". I told him I was always hot, just that he'd only just noticed. Oh, and that it was hugely inappropriate ;-)

Gorgeous! I'm looking forward to when all the vintage clothes fit me too. The dress (and you too) is beautiful.

Just wow. You show just what is possible when you fight for yourself. Incredible.

Thanks!

Ha! Didn't think of that! I think I'd be ok to survive quite a while then .... To be honest though, the thought of eating so few calories to be below BMR would be enough to push me over the edge and into the donut shop though.

If your BMR is the energy required to keep you alive, i.e. to ensure your body functions even if you are in a coma, then surely eating below this would leave you feeling weak, not to mention hungry. This can't be a good thing over a sustained period of time. Or am I missing something?

For me, it was the enormity of the situation I had gotten myself into. To realise that the only way I could lose weight was to eat less ... And that I needed to lose a massive amount of weight. Once I had accepted that it was going to take a long time, the process has been a whole lot less scary. Reading the threads on…

I try not to think of anything as "cheating" or "bad". If I go out for dinner, I generally stick to two courses rather than three, but I won't miss out on a pudding! I try to make sure that I have been to the gym that day or go the following day so I can relax more about the calories.

Amazing! I am right at the beginning of losing a lot of weight, and a lot of what you have written rings so true for me. Thank you and well done!
