I know you said you don't like oatmeal, but there are several ways you can dress it up: I make old fashioned oats and add a half cup of any flavor yogurt. The possiblities are endless with this since there are so many flavors. Or add fresh fruit (blackberries are my favorite) to oatmeal. I make sure I have enough berries…

My dad always said that our genes were "built for comfort, not speed" so I had never considered myself a runner when my friend took me out for a jog. The most valuable key she taught me was when you feel like quitting, don't stop. Just slow down. I went from never running to running 4 miles that day! Another thing I…

And I must add that I agree that you shouldn't diet. Have you ever stuck with a diet? No! Me neither! Start with making small changes like taking a walk and switching to ground turkey instead of ground beef. The slower you start, the easier it will be to stick with and add additional changes to benefit your new lifestyle.

I would gladly support you! I have recently hit my 100 lb goal. I, too, had two children (less than 13 months apart) and gained a bunch of weight because of it. You can do it!! It will take some time. It took me 3 years to reach this goal. Did I get frustrated? Yes! Did I gain weight back? Yes! But you can do it! Friend me…

Check out the exercise database. There is the "walking, pushing stroller" option too. It must calculate at a slow pace. I have two children and often push them in a double stroller, too. But I've found that MFP gives me a higher calorie burn if I enter it at my speed than the pushing stroller option. Just play around with…

If I were you, I'd keep tracking at 3.0 mph walking a dog pace. Even though you are pushing something, you are going slower than the 3.0 mph pace. It's just an estimate anyways.

Take a nice brisk walk. 20 minutes is better than just sitting at home doing nothing.

Be honest with your friend up front. Tell her how important your goals are to you and would like her help to stay on track. Ask that she not put you in the position to make a costly decision. Remember your quote by Kenneth Bianchard. You have made a commitment. Stick to it. And agreed: lots of gum and LOTS of water! And…

I agree with all of the above advice. One other thing that has helped me is change the day you weigh in. I used to weigh in Monday mornings, but Sundays are my day of rest and sometimes a meal (a healthy meal) at a restaurant. Now I weigh myself on Wednesday - three days into my routine. I've noticed a HUGE difference!…

I've done 30 Day Shred and was not impressed. I love P90X though. I'm just over half way through and have seen AMAZING results! I like how you are working different muscle groups with different videos each day, where the 30 Day Shred you do the same thing over and over. I have not done Insanity yet. I thought P90X was a…

I agree with the gum comment. Extra's Dessert Delight gum is a huge lifesaver for me. Also, surround yourself with food that are better to stress eat on with! Carrots and celery are now my go-to foods when I stress eat. I don't feel as guilty if I eat extra celery than I would munching on a brownie. Best of luck!

I saw the majority of change in the first 30 days. Before starting P90X I did other workouts but still ate what I wanted. However I didn't see much change. Once I started P90X I changed the way I ate (cut out fatty food and added LOTS of veggies) I saw drastic change immediately! Best suggestion for you is change what you…

I really enjoyed Turbo Jam when I first started out. There are several videos that will satisfy any intensity level in the program. Great for beginners and intermediates. I highly recommend it!

When i was at my heaviest (mid 200's) I started with Turbo Jam. It was a huge workout when you are carrying around that much weight and not used to exercising. Now I'm on to P90X. I had the opposite problem as you: I had no butt! But with all of the lunges and squats I am gaining a butt! But this butt is lifted and…

I do P90X and I'm not getting ripped with muscle. I'm dropping weight, losing inches and getting toned. I started with Turbo Jam before doing P90X to help with my endurance, but I think you should start with P90X. There are different programs to fit your need with P90X. And it never gets boring. My vote is for P90X. It's…

I'm a P90Xer! I was doing P90X without counting my calories and was not see the results I wanted. But now that I stick to 1200/day (without eating my workout calories) I'm shedding 2.5-3 lbs/week. I had a major sweet tooth too, but I have an orange for a snack instead of cookies or brownies. Do you drink your coffee black?…

I try to NOT eat them back. As long as you are eating the right calories, such as a lot of veggies and some fruit, it's hard to go hungry in a day. And the closer you stick to the alotted calories (mine is 1200) yet burn half of that off in your workouts, the quicker you'll see results! Best of luck!

One nice thing about fast food restaurants now is they have their nutrition facts listed on their website. Before you go out, check out their facts to see what would fit in your daily alottment. I opt for the oatmeal at McDonalds. Delicious!! Subway also has the option to build a virtual sandwich and adds up the nutrition…

Learn to drink it black. I was big on creamer, but I knew I needed to cut out all of those calories. Here's what worked for me and I think it will help you too: Stop drinking coffee for about two weeks. I know, that's sounds hard, and it is. When you feel like it's the right time to start drinking coffee again, make a weak…
