So I am at day 30 of my P90X program. I had lost 6 pounds in my first 10 days. Now I am up a pound to make only 5 pounds lost and I have not changed since.. Getting a little frustrated. I know I need to cut some of my fattier calories out to help with this process, but how long until the changes start?

I looked at your food diary for the last few days and if that's how you're eating all the time, I would advise you try to clean up your diet. You may be within your calories, but sodium is a big thing and so is processed foods. Processed foods have so many fake ingredients, artificial sweeteners, etc. that will kill your weight loss.
With intense workouts like P90X, the key things I think for your diet need to be: Protein, LOTS of water and lower sodium foods, fruits & veggies for fiber. Make sure you're eating a majority of your calories back so you have enough energy to KEEP up the workouts and I look forward to seeing you progress and post a topic in 30 more days with progress pics (please!?) :happy:0 -

I saw the majority of change in the first 30 days. Before starting P90X I did other workouts but still ate what I wanted. However I didn't see much change. Once I started P90X I changed the way I ate (cut out fatty food and added LOTS of veggies) I saw drastic change immediately! Best suggestion for you is change what you eat but keep doing the workouts. I bet you'll see an instant change. I will warn you: Now that you'll be entering Phase 2 things are going to get rough. Some workouts will change (I'm doing the Lean. Not a big fan of Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps! Too many pushups for my liking!). Find someone to help motivate you. Keep at it. You'll get to your goal. Just don't give up. That's the easy way out.0

I agree, not enough veggies, too many fast foods or frozen foods; also adding more fruit instead of icecream or desserts. I pretty much eat chicken, ground turkey and once in awhile I eat beef. There are so many things you can do with chicken, I have replaced ground beef with lean ground turkey in almost reciepe. I'm not a big egg eater so my breakfast usually consists of ceral with fruit. Remember waffles, bread, english muffins and bread is NOT helping you keep your calorie counts down. Google some low cal foods/meals, cook enough to have leftovers for lunch instead of frozen type meals.
Not sure how you arrived at your total calories but your number seems really high. My doctor suggest to lose lbs. I should stay between 1200-1400, he told me anything about 1500 is not in "weight loss" range. Good Luck with your weight loss goals!0 -
So my question to you is have you lost inches? Do your clothes feel loser? It could be that you are replacing fat with lean muscle and lean muscle weighs more than fat. You need to build muscle to speed up fat loss...this could be what your body is doing!!! If you haven't taken measurements...than do so now and check them again in a couple weeks. Also try on clothes that have been snug in the past and see how they are fitting now. I wish you the very best!!!!0

I have been losing in inches which is nice. Not a tone and not as much as I would like but I have seen a little difference. My biggest pain area is my belly, but the biggest change I have seen is my butt and legs..0 -
Thanks for the post. Veggies and fruit would be great, but with IBS I can't eat a tone of that kind of stuff because it throws me in attacks. I know I need more control on my snacks. I am trying to find a happy medium with that. I will never just give up my favorite foods, but I know I have to cut back on them.0

Its MFP that calculates it. Once I do a workout which I use a HRM to make sure calorie burn is correct it changes my goal intake.0
