Adhering to my morning ritual. Get up, get into workout clothes I laid out the night before, coffee that I preset the night before, meditate, walk the dog, watch the headlines, and work out. The same routine every day really sets the tone for me, I feel like I’ve conquered the day before it’s even started :)

I’m worried what so much alcohol every week is doing to me physically.

SW = 165.6 Halloween = 160.0 Thanksgiving = 155 New Year’s = 150 If I can make this first goal at Halloween, I feel like I’ll get a lot of motivation out of that. Around a pound a week doesn’t sound like a lot, but I also know maintaining the calorie deficit is SO hard.

I’m going on a beach trip with girlfriends in six months and I, too, want to wear a red bikini. Or black. Or one with flowers. I literally have a drawer full of cute two pieces that I never feel good about wearing. I want to feel good when I put it on - and not “good for today” or “ehhh good enough.” Like, slap it on and…

I might as well have written the original post because I constantly feel this way. The best thing to keep repeating like a broken record is that with each day of working out, having a calorie deficit, drinking water, etc. - it’s an investment in my long-term self rather than my tomorrow self. In other words, I didn’t gain…

I used to be a daily diet soda drinker. I switched to flavored sparkling water for the month of January and for some reason this year I broke the soda habit. Now I just have it occasionally if I’m eating out for lunch. I almost never have it by itself because it makes me hungry. I just feel better mentally about replacing…

Sending good thoughts your way! I empathize with the idea that you feel like you can't move forward until you see the old you in the mirror - but I'd be willing to bet that just moving away from the source/inspiration of your prior bad habits will be the kickstarter you need to get back to that physical place. As for the…

I've been a gym go-er since college but I'm always nervous when I start at a new place because I never know where anything is, like the towelettes for wiping down the equipment or the ladies locker room. I second the advice of ask questions of trainers and regular gym-goers - but if that makes you too nervous, just stick…

I always think donuts are more satisfying in theory than in reality - they are sugary and tastey, but only satisfying for that first bite. And you never actually feel more full than if you ate, say, a cookie or a granola bar. I'm always a big fan of splitting it in half and trashing the uneaten half in the office kitchen.…
