^ This is pure awesome and my thoughts exactly!

It would actually NOT be a good idea for OP, a recovering anorexic, to own a scale. OP, does where ever you live have state care available? More than needing access to a scale, you need access to health care which will set you up with the right team of professionals: doctors, nutritionists, therapists and so forth.

I don't understand the point of these posts. Are we comparing, bragging, sharing or...? I truly don't follow the purpose.

Thank you! Last thing...what does TDEE stand for? I've been on MFP for months and have yet to figure it out. (I'm bad at the internet). :)

People's diets and body choices are very personal, as you said. Sounds like its time for you to put up some healthy boundaries with said people. Sometimes people aren't aware of the effects their words can have. Your vent is completely valid. I come from a family of people with eating disorders and a complete lack of…

I suspected that to be the case. Thanks everyone!

How do you not see the difference? We're always hardest on ourselves. I can tell you that I definitely see a HUGE difference, especially in your abdomen. I was having a hard time noticing my weight loss too despite the scale telling me I was losing, so I started tracking my measurements to get a solid idea of where my…

Congrats! Running outside vs on a treadmill is a whole different game. Great job!

Like a boss! I love Pilates and this definitely inspires me to get to a class. You look quite strong.

Thank you all! Honestly, I don't think I would still be sober if it wasn't for the weight loss goals. It's been very easy to have yet another reminder (calories/bloat/munchies) as to not drink. Focusing on putting good things in my body for the first time in my LIFE has really put into perspective just how badly I use to…

No. It makes sense that you did it in high school, when girls are very insecure. In high school I was the one trying to orchestrate group diets. No one was into it. Ha.

I have a Slimfast 20 g of protein shake every morning for the last week. I had gotten lazy about making breakfast, so began drinking them to keep myself from lunch binging. They're good enough and so little caloricly that I just consider it a part of breakfast and add a Greek yogurt and piece of fruit. They're not filling…

I love how confident you seem in your ability to tackle another 100 lbs. And why wouldn't you? You've figured out how to do it and are clearly driven and hard working. I would be overwhelmed , but you speak of it as if it's mere. That, sir, makes you a boss. You impress.

Always knows his answer to "do you even lift?"
-
Just want to say that you look great! I find it impressive that you've gone from where you were to where you are now. It's very obvious how dedicated you are and how hard you've worked. I find that kind of strength very becoming.

Hey there! I'm a mom also, but only of one. However, I'm going to tell you a tale of my best friend. She also has four children. She's always been big. After her fourth she got to (I suspect) a tad over 300. She's 5'6". She stores most her weight in her upper body and trunk as many Latinas do. She has lost over 80 lbs this…

Good God!!! What a transformation you've made!!! I am a sucker for a pretty back and yours is gorgeously toned. Great work.

Buffalo wheat thins. One serving becomes two becomes none.

You talked about your excitement for preparing to be fit and then began speaking of your guy. What does his journey have to do with yours? Focus on you. If he is fat and genuinely happy, then leave the man be. I think you are a bit too focused on something and someone you can't control. Perhaps, over time he will desire to…

Thank you!!

You've made such progress! You're clearly smaller all over, but what really caught my eye is how amazing your arms look! Keep it up.

My NSV might not be a biggie to some, but for me it is. I hate, hate, hate the stairclimber, but for the last few days have been doing it as I've grown bored with two months of working out on the treadmill. I have only pushed myself to do 500 steps, until today. Today I climbed for 1605 steps, the equivalent of walking up…

Good advice. Thaaankks! :)))

Aww catty men on the internet. How secure you must be.

So I find a lot of the mentality around "if you really want this, you'd already be motivated" to be ridiculous. Is it a crime to need support in what is a physically and emotionally trying journey? Everybody loses motivation at times and like one poster said " you do it anyway". Totally. And I don't "need" anyone to treat…

Ay, ay! This is the abusive motivation I benefit from. ;) Thanks all! Still using this thread as motivation today.

False. The motivation of those who chose to reply and send positive, encouraging thoughts did have an effect. Thanks to all you who shared mantras and quotes and compliments. I really do appreciate it and have towed myself to the gym, where I currently am. Being a badass isn't going to happen on its own. Back to it!
-
Yes ma'am! My sense of worth has sky rocketed since taking better care of myself. I so appreciate your focus on this.

Next meal. Next workout. Tomorrow. Learning self forgiveness has been the most challenging, thus far. I have an all or nothing mentality that has been harmful to my relationship with food my entire life. Instead of saying, oh well or next week, I strive to do better next meal, next workout. Tomorrow is a clean slate.
