Reputable stores will be happy to tell you what kind of shoes to get (motion control, stability, etc), and can size your shoe properly. Well said. The difference is only in the spelling. Running is the overarching activity. Under the big heading of running, you can further describe it as jogging (slower running) or sprinting (your fastest running), but there is no way to say when you are "running" vs. "jogging."
