I've heard many people say that portabello mushrooms are a good "steak" substitute - personally I love them and would take the mushroom over the steak any day. You can just pan fry in a little olive oil with salt and pepper.

You're going to get so many different responses to this! There is no secret, but when I lost my weight several years ago was due to Cardio, Cardio, Cardio and Zone-style eating (40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat). It allowed me to lose about 40 pounds. Now, here's the trouble with all that cardio... my trouble areas are…

Here's the thing, no one is ever going to understand why other people do what they do, in your case (along with most people on this site), changing your lifestyle to get healthier. It sounds like you have an answer for everything, when the bottom line is you only have to answer to yourself. Quit over-analyzing every…

For breakfast, my go to for work is kind of like a baked omelette / frittata: Preheat oven to 350: In a large bowl mix together any kind of veggies you would thrown into an omelette (chopped zucchini, peppers, mushrooms, green onions, a box of frozen spinach) - a handful of each - chopped into small pieces. Sprinkle the…

I agree with all of the above posters, definitely go to Youtube - blogilates.com is awesome as well But... I'm a sellout and love to buy DVD workouts. I think you will love Turbo Fire, Chalene is super motivating, plus you can work your way up to any level you're comfortable with. Insanity and P90X are great too, but I…

Great ideas, thanks everyone. Also, spinning! Just thought of it last night.

Swimming! Yes... of course. I've never heard of Aqua Zumba, I'll look in my area. Thanks

My sentiments exactly. Original Poster seems to already know what they want to hear...

Your day looks pretty decent actually. It's right out of the Zone diet, protien with every meal, carbs and some fat. Very well balanced, I would only say maybe add more fruit? As for the chocolate, sweets are my weakness, so I wish I could take my own advice, but maybe instead of M&M's try 70% or higher dark chocolate?

In my opinion, this website is just the opposiite, nutrition is one of the main reasons people are here. The onus is on you to find what works best for you, go to the Search button above and type in Kale, or Tofu, or Quinoa... thousands of results will come up. Your title is very generic, perhaps that's why not too many…

I've been gluten-free since January 1st - I do not have celiac disease, nor do I have an "intolerance" but I was always very bloated after eating foods with gluten. This was my test to see if perhaps I should start limiting it indefinitely. I find now that I've been doing it for a few weeks I'm definitely feeling lighter…

I'm sure the original poster meant no harm, or to them it is something that is "all-consuming"...why must we always start this literal analogy of every single word used in a post... let it go :)

And pizza. I just read another poster, and remembered pizza... the greatest food in the world, especially my Mommy's.

Candy, like jujubes, gummy bears, raspberries and worms... you know, candy for 4 year olds. Gets me every time, and actually every day I consume it, I dream about it too, it's really quite disturbing :)

I hear you OP - but my problem is weekends. I eat very well during the week, then subconsciously I think that I can treat myself all weekend because I work out a lot and eat well, and what I binge on is garbage... sugar, tons and tons of sugar comprised of little kids' candies such as gummies and jujubes - like, how old am…

I'm not about to read 9 pages of replies, so hopefully this isn't a duplicate, but to the ORIGINAL POSTER... Perhaps look in to getting some home videos (Walmart, Walgreens, Target or Amazon). My favorites are Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred (great for beginners), Turbo Fire, Insanity or P90X - even good old Billy Blanks'…

Anything fried... so basically everything  Have some won ton soup, or ask for a veggie stirfry with little or no oil. Or you can just relax for one night, enjoy yourself and have an extra fabulous workout tomorrow! Enjoy, it's one of my favorites.

Thanks.

Pulled pork: I threw a lovely pork roast in the crock pot with some onions, carrots, garlic, jalapeno and salt and pepper; when I get home I will drain it, shred it and pour over some bbq sauce. Oh man, I'm hungry now.

Although I understand the reasoning behind your post, I have to whole-heartedly disagree with this particular statement... I think that I am of the thousands out there that DO purchase Lululemons specifically for working out. As I have stated in prior posts, it is much easier to do burpees and HIIT workouts when you're not…

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but... Quinoa A million recipes on this site too.

^^^ this. Can you imagine how boring life would be if we couldn't have a heated discussion or two?
-
See, this is what is quite misleading about Lululemon (or other high-end workout clothing/runners)... yes you're just "working out", but the clothes are cut so that they make exercise, in my opinion, easier, safer, and just better all around. If I'm wearing a cotton t-shirt, for me personally, when I do more than 2…

Same type of meals as at home. Chicken - baked or bbq (or if there's a market near by, get a rotisserie chicken and shred it into a salad or make some quesadilla's) Pork Chops Jumbo Prawns Quinoa Salad Greek Salad Pasta Roasted veggies For something warm: Buy a bunch of butternut squash and sweet potatoes, onions, garlic,…

I've heard this saying more than once recently: BREAKFAST LIKE A KING, LUNCH LIKE A PRINCE, DINNER LIKE A PAUPER. Taking from what the above poster said, just use common sense. Increase fruits and vegetables, switch all WHITE foods to whole grain, NO FAST FOOD (and I mean the obvious stuff: burgers, fries, fried anything…

I can't believe the variety... this actually makes me feel better about myself. I'm 5'6", stuck at 145lbs and wear a 10 bottom and a Small to Medium top (VERY thick middle, skinny legs, no boobs). My goal is a 6-8 bottom, but realistically it won't happen anytime soon, I love food too much. Great post:

I have the same problem, but usually only after dinner. Maybe chew gum? Or brush your teeth? Or add a Crystal Light to your water?
