I think your mindset right now is just in a negative space, so you will find any excuse to not exercise (too hot, your feet hurt; too busy; too stressed) - that's all of us. Look at the positives that exercise brings: mental clarity (great for your studies); stress reducer; you'll meet new people. Try something new, try…

Sounds good to me! And if you still have a few minutes you can finish off with some hill sprints on a treadmill??

I'm in! Exact same story as @becwana  CW: 147 GW: 135 (hit 138 as my all time low a few months ago and felt great)

I just received a Mio Fuse for my birthday in early December, and so far I love it. My sister-in-law works as a nurse with cardiac patients, and creates exercise programs for them. She compared the accuracy of the Mio Fuse, Fitbit (not sure which one), plus some other fancy HRM's that cost more than $300 and she said the…

Under Goals, I would set your Activity Level at Active, but to be honest I wouldn't log things like Cleaning, or general everyday activities. MFP will take into consideration the fact that you are more active than someone set at Sedentary and will set your BMR (I think that's the correct term) accordingly. In the end, I…

^^ yaaa, that's what my husband said too, until that's all I made for dinner one night. And he was very impressed. To the point that he actually asked for it again. I used one from Pinterest... but of course now the link is deactivated. I would do everything the above posters have mentioned (add a ton of herbs and spices,…

Good for you! Perhaps warm up on the treadmill (or track) at a nice easy pace, preferably on a slight incline for a few minutes, then after about 5 minutes increase the speed to a faster paced walk / jog for 20 minutes. If you're comfortable with weights, you can take some 5lb or 8lb dumbbells and bang out some arm…

Thank you! Ultimately my goal is to improve my tennis (agility, speed and strength) and increase muscle plus stay in my best physical condition. Dropping about 10 pounds is secondary, but would be nice, and ultimately will help me get faster and more agile playing tennis. My current program varies (dependent on weather, if…

Just to add... if you do have this meal, and don't really like how you feel afterwards, remember that! I try to remember how I feel about half an hour later, or a few hours later when you get home and you're bloated and full from all the salt and empty (but delicious) calories. Maybe that will help you stress less the next…

Or, you can just not worry so much about it, have an awesome workout, and enjoy your one splurge meal this week. The stress over this one meal will cause weight gain, just enjoy it!

Did you see if P90X2 was at London Drugs? Thanks for the tip! I think Insanity is awesome, it will kick your butt for sure, but the more you do it, the better you get. Personally I only followed the fitness side of it. Same goes for P90X.

Youtube will have whatever tickles your fancy. Bob Harper, Jillian Michaels, Fitnessblender is awesome too, as the above poster mentioned.

If you have access to some free weights, Youtube is your best friend :)

I can't speak about men's shoes specifically, as I am a woman, but both my husband and I swear by Asics for support. I have plantars fasciitis and my $800 custom made orthotics didn't even alleviate the pain in my heels, only Asics runners did. My shoes are a tad cheaper than my husbands, but not by much, I think his…

I already have several other workouts I do outdoors, in a class setting, etc...plus workout videos, so basically I'm just looking for gym-specific workouts (cardio and weights combined) for those days where I'm short on time, can't get outside or to a class. But all of these suggestions have been fantastic so far! Thanks…

I'm surprised no one has said anything about sodium yet (or maybe I missed it).

Excellent tips here - I just found out I am dairy, egg and wheat intolerant, so this post has some great information.

You've probably just dislodged something, or moved the dial - it was definitely on "zero"? Think about it - one pound equals 3500 calories. Did you eat 38500 calories in the last 4 days, and not burn any calories? Probably not :) Maybe just double check the scale is on a level surface??? Just guessing here.

I'm not sure either exactly what to say but you can know that you're not alone. I am in a very similar position and reading this post has given me a little kick in the butt, so thank you for that. Let's see how long it lasts ;) Just keep coming back to MFP message boards, you'll find something that will just trigger you…

Ha ha, I'm at work too and was trying to hold back tears. Good luck to the Original Poster - and to Kyle, you certainly know the meaning of paying it forward, you have a good soul.

If boneless skinless chicken breast isn't your favorite, I would suggest grilling it instead of baking. If you want a neutral protein, nothing wrong with a little salt and pepper. But when I grill an entire tray of breasts for the week, I just gather up all my favorite spices then start sprinkling: 3 of them Cajun 3 of…
