  • Just three.. A Trek touring bike from the 2nd year they were in business...its a cool bike with bar end shifters and center pull brakes. No clips but its been ridden all over the US. A Specialized Rock Hopper Mountain Bike. Takes a beating and just keeps working A Trek Carbon Fiber "US Postal Team" model. Hasn't been used…
  • I have a Specialized Rock Hopper and have not yet been able to break it. Trail riding, town riding and just a good durable bike that takes a beating. I think I paid about $300 of fit new....I agree, please go to a bike store, not a store with bikes.
  • Interesting. I didn't know garmin made anything for bikes. After I got my iPhone I quit using a GPS. After a couple years off the bike I'm looking forward to riding again....I guess I'll go look at the Garmin. Does it work as a pedometer also?
  • Outstanding! Isn't it a wonderful thing...That 300 barrier is a huge one for guys and I congratulate you on this success story...keep it going
  • Down 17lbs at my first "weigh In". Took just over a month. I feel great, my kids are telling me my jeans are too big and I'm wearing clothes I haven't worn in years...First step in a long goal and I'm thrilled. Thank you to everyone that encouraged me on...
  • I'm actually kind of curious. I use a pedometer and at one time used a HRM. Not training for anything other than smaller sized pants and shirts…maybe a 5K with my daughter. What does the Nike Band do? Better that any others (are there others?)
  • Take a look sometime what is folks grocery carts. Frozen pizza, cookies, frozen waffles, soda, Pop Tarts, chips and ready to cook everything. When was the last time you saw a cart filled with flour, eggs, milk, whole chicken, chicken broth, carrots, celery, onions, fresh fruit and just about any other "raw" ingredient. We…
  • You bet….311 when I began. This time. I'm excited because I have yet to weigh myself again but I'm down two pants sizes, my 2xl shirts are getting baggy and wow, do I ever feel great. This site has been a vital part of being responsible for what I am doing… I'm excited to "weigh in" next week at the VA hospital in Madison,…
  • Take the scale and throw it away….or at least hide it. It measures nothing but your pull against gravity and does not account for muscle building, fat loss or water. If your clothes fit better or looser you are doing something right. Keep on a sustainable program, not something that offers "loose weight quickly"… Good…
  • I was a competitive powerlifter fo rover 20 years. I don't think it matters what "federation" you join. Most of my meets when I began were AAU I believe. Really doesn't matter. Join, compete and have fun...
  • Throw your scale away….it doesn't measure anything except you and your pull on gravity. Enjoy your workouts, enjoy getting bigger and toned arms, enjoy that you look better in clothes….
  • Take that scale and throw it away. Or at least take the battery out. Forget about what you weigh after a specific activity. Weigh your self today and then again in a month…don't compare yourself to anyone else, Biggest Loser show or your best friend that has lost more…it doesn't matter as long as you do it slow and steady..
  • Research time….not sure what an ARC is...
  • I "weigh in" once a month. My pants and shirts tell me if I am on track or eating too much or exercising too little
  • Bull….if you didn't care you wouldn't be here or have posted. This is a great community and we all have the same challenges…we aren't here because we ate too many carrots while training for a marathon. Seek out the support and friendships here that will support you. I know I have one friend here and every time I see a…
  • I threw all the bands, monitors and other gadgets in a drawer and never looked at them again. I get out and walk and make sure I do the three mile loop…pretty freeing getting rid of all that "stuff"
