Of course..I just gave up on tracking everything except what I eat. Sometimes the gadget worked, sometimes not. And I have no doubt it was partly my fault. Not saying they don't work but I'd rather keep track by how my clothes fit
-
Go for a walk. Then another one the next day. I love cake and donuts but nearly as much as wearing smaller size pants. And now an XL instead of 3X. Make it gradual and not a destination. You'll do fine if it's important to you
-
mostly donuts...
-
Go walk. A block, then two, then more. Not the same day. My wife and I decided that we'd like to be together for awhile and walking together is great. She is now jogging/walking 5-6 miles with spurts of 10 and I'm doing 4-5..it all started with the first step.

That's perfect. We live in beautiful Southwestern Wisconsin in a town of 750...amazing scenery and routes right outside our door....maybe a cattle truck or John Deere once in awhile but almost no cars..yes, we are very lucky
-
I had a FitBit and have come to hate every electronic gadget. Threw mine away and now I go walk/jog until I sweat, then more and when I'm tired I go a bit further....
-
Doesn't matter, at least to me, if MFP and FitBit sync exactly. I stick with one and follow it
-
take that scale and hide it, better yet, give it away. You don't need one to keep track of your weight loss.....your clothes will tell you that...
-
We all start again each day. You'll do fine and don't punish yourself when you have that donut instead of an apple..just go walk an extra half mile
-
You'll do great...add me if you'd like

Ran loads of half marathons years ago..at least they felt that way in boot camp and around Camp Pendleton. Seriously, just decided to do the half marathon in Yellowstone NP this summer...going to walk/jog to make the time cutoff....
-
Be awesome if I could walk 30-45 minutes each way to the gym...we live in a very rural area and the closest one is 20 minutes by car...
-
Outstanding! My wife and I are registered and have begin training for the half marathon in Yellowstone NP...She will run it, I'll jog and walk....can't wait
-
I'd bet you are stronger, feel better and have more energy..Give up? No, think of how great you'll feel in a month. In a quarter. In a year.

Good morning Amber and welcome. The number one thing that has helped me is the long term goal. Getting there, for me, is a step by step journey. Tracking everything on MFP has been invaluable and being responsible for everything I eat or exercise. It has really helped. I weigh myself once, maybe twice a month because I…

I remember running in lousy fitting high top Chuck Taylor's, grey sweat pants and a rubber jacket. No Fitbit, no computer, no GPs..just get out and go....never knew I needed a special getup to bike..
-
You mean my cutoff grey USMC sweatpants don't make the cut?
-
Stuffing 20lbs of "stuff" into a 10lb bag usually isn't pretty..
-
First of all, you are doing great! 30 plus lbs is significant and you should be proud. Walk, just walk. It's Spring outside, put your headphones on and just go enjoy it. Forget about Fitbits, Nike bands and all that. I use a pedometer and love it....easy, simple and 30 bucks. Enjoy it. Once you begin to enjoy the walk…

Take the battery out of the scale and forget about it for a month. Eat the way you know you are supposed to eat, begin an exercise routine and relax. You'll do fine and your body will reward you.
-
Getting my shrinking body on a bike regularly. Personal goal...dip back wheel in Mississippi and ride across Wisconsin and dip front tire in Lake Michigan a couple days later..
-
You are doing exactly what you should be doing. Forget the running, keep walking....you'll do great..
-
New grey throwback sweatpants....doesn't matter how much weight I lose....no lycra for this guy
-
Take the battery out of the scale, don't use the scale at the gym and just keep working. A shift in your body tone and composition will happen, over a period of time if done correctly.
-
Thanks....never knew something like this existed for the masses. Setup an appointment in Dubuque...can't wait for spring and the snow piles to leave...
-
I love going out in old grey sweat pants, hooded sweatshirt and great shoes. Lycra? Not for this guy
-
Good for you. Doesn't matter if you "finish" or not...it does if you start.
-
Take that scale, remove the battery, hide it in a closet or throw it away. The number on the readout is not a measure of your success, it only measures your bodyweight. If you've been exercising you've been building muscle. How are your clothes fitting? Looser in the pants and tighter in the arms. Continue the work and…

This Garmin stuff sounds cool. All I really want to track, at this point, is distance and time..Maybe routes in the future..Can I input a route prior to the ride and use the Garmin as a "map"
-
Just keep doing it. You may need to adjust the intensity but moving is still good...my biggest tip..take all the measurement gadgets, trackers and other "stuff" and put it in a drawer..enjoy the ride
