I'm 5'3" and 136 and a size 2... Size and weight aren't always related. There is a lot to be said about having a little muscle mass.

^^^^this. They aren't necessarily bad ideas (well except for the no food after 6 or 7), but I doubt they will make any significant difference on your metabolism.

I LOVE my booty and my legs :)

I've read a lot of personal experiences from vegetarians that had diets rich in soy.... the soy can wreck havoc on your thyroid and hormonal system in high doses. These people ended up getting really sick and it can be very difficult to reverse the damage. Take notice that I said HIGH doses. Certainly a little soy a day…

I have one after my workout. So I would call it more of a "snack". Personally, I aim for 30% of my diet from protein. Which typically ends up being around 120g.

you'll lose weight, but you can't guarantee it will be the right kind of weight loss. muscle atrophy is big with those that lose weight without exercise. the benefits of exercise are enormous, aside from weight loss, it aids in heart health, battles numerous diseases and aids in longevity.

There is a difference between a 10 minute warm up (basically "get your body warm") and 45 minute run (85% max heart rate). Long cardio depletes your body of glycogen, which you need to lift heavy.

THIS>>>> When I was in college we had swim practice (2 hours of rough cardio) and dry land (usually a 3 miles run) all before weight lifting due to scheduling issues. It was absolutely impossible and awful.

thank you, I agree with this. This is why I occasionally take a week or so off and it ALWAYS breaks my plateau. Sometimes I even lose weight during the "maintenance week"

Basically 25 is considered average. You can look up a chart online to know exactly what it means. Here is a list: http://www.builtlean.com/2010/08/03/ideal-body-fat-percentage-chart/ It is really difficult to get your body fat simply from measurements. You can usually look up a website and plug in the requirement…

I usually have 2-3 scrambled eggs and a greek yogurt for breakfast. Sometimes I'll have some fruit with it if I'm hungry. My stove is very efficient so it literally only takes 2 minutes to cook the eggs. I want to start mixing in different types of vegetables because I need to eat more of those! :)

you MAINTAIN at 1230? holy gosh! thats lower than my weight loss. PERSONALLY I have mine set for 1800 but I lose weight at around 1500 calories a day (and after exercise) I can see what my true deficit is.

I center my meals around meat and protein. OMMM nom nom.

DURRRR actually I have read that our bodies don't fully absorb all of the calories from alcohol. don't quote me on it tho.

I AGREE. I panic thinking about having to log my calories everyday for the rest of my life. My hope is that I will learn a healthy way to eat and learn a schedule and once I hit my goal weight it will be easy to maintain as long as I keep a healthy diet and watch my portions. A normal female needs close to (or more) than…

About a year ago I focused on eating healthy and exercising. Didn't care about calories, just made sure I was being sensible with my choices and controlling portions. I ended up losing about 15 pounds doing that and got to my goal weight. Now I'm ten pounds heavier and I'm trying to get back there again. I must admit I am…

THIS SOUNDS SO DELICIOUS.

15 pounds can make a huge difference! awesome job!

This is what I do...

ohhhhhh this is just too much for me right now

blah blah blah..... keep on eating your processed pseudo food. I'll stick to my grown from the earth fruits.

It will get better, I promise. I have 7 of Jillian's videos and I started out at the beginning of 30DS just like you. I've progressed to the highest level on all of them after about 3 months of rotating them (I do a different video each day, I have boredom issues  ) Anyways, I am in great shape now, but I STILL find…

Your weight sounds normal for your height. I would say it is going to take longer than you would like to get down. The closer you get to your goal weight, the longer it takes to lose the weight. Oh and I've heard that doing HIIT everyday is harmful? I'm not positive on this though.

HOW IS A BANANA BAD FOR YOU?! IT IS A FRUIT. IT IS NATURAL. THE END.

Um, nothing is off limits. Everything in moderation.

I like to do this on the elliptical... I bump up the resistance to something crazy during the Intensity part and I look like I'm skiing through molasses. I'm drenched in sweat by the end and people stare and me because they can't understand how you can get such a good work out on the elliptical.

IT TASTES AWFUL. and it only has like 2.5% percent alcohol. It's basically watered down beer. You'd have to drink two for it to be like a regular bed select (which is only 95) calories. Regular Bud Select is my choice if I'm going to be drinking beer (which I usually don't, and stick to clear liquor, my FAVE is vodka &diet…

I UNDERSTAND. I'm 5'3" 136 and I wear a size 0. People think I weigh 110 or under because I have so much muscle it makes me tiny. Or they see my weight and think I'm larger and don't take body fat percentage or body measurements into consideration. grrr

^^^this + ointment. alright, I need to leave this thread for my sanity.
