  • UM does she go to birthday parties everyday? I doubt it. It is called will-power. Lazy, no good, mother... :grumble: :grumble: :grumble: Children (AND ALL PEOPLE) learn to eat by habit. Teach them (through habit) to like healthy snacks and that is what they will go for. They also learn by example. Seeing you eat ice cream…
  • I always AIM to workout 6 days but it usually ends up being around 5. I go HARD on those days though, usually about an hour and a half. I'm also fairly active on my off days so I don't feel bad about it. Muscles need recovery. People that can "work out" 7 days a week are insane in my book.
  • honestly, that just makes them look bigger. I feel for you OP, I have the same problem. I've found that lowering my BF% has helped considerably. The fat on top made them look gross but the more fat I lose the better my muscles look. Kind of like chiseling away at the top layer to find nice curves and contours underneath.…
  • I find it easier to ignore the net. I mean I think about it sometimes, but I just make sure that I eat a certain amount everyday. I've had the most success when I stay around 1400-1800 calories a day (I'm 5'3" 130, but this will be DIFFERENT for you) I don't like eating back ALL of my exercise calories because I mentally…
  • I'm 5'3" and I think I would look gross at 118. Like sickly skinny. I can only imagine how worse that would be if I was two inches taller. I have MY goal set to 124. IMO body fat percentage tells WAY more than the number on the scale. I have 105 pounds of lean mass, if I was 118, well that would make me only 11% body fat…
  • I  you. You took the words out of my mouth.
  • I think so. I am usually a little low during the week and kind of "save" them for a nice meal on the weekend or a night out on the town. It has been working for me. I just look at my "weekly" goals to see how I'm doing. I don't think your body loses weight in a linear fashion.
  • seriously! I mean there are so many other foods to talk about.
  • This used to happen to me back in the day when I had a borderline ED. Burning almost everything you eat makes it hard to go-->which may be the case if you are only eating 1200 calories a day. You may just not be eating enough.
  • I love this thread  Personally, I get "curves" when I get thinner because my waist becomes more defined. I'm a size 2 now at 20%BF and once I get down to about 17-18% like I want I will probably be a size 0. But I agree that is all about making yourself the best YOU can be and the way that YOU want. There is no…
  • Personally, I think this is okay. Simply because you are still PUTTING nutrients (vitamins and minerals) into your body. I do this and then usually go over in calories on the weekends... I think it balances out very nicely and has worked for me. I feel as healthy as ever.
  • EXACTLY. I'm curvier when I'm thinner (i.e. size 0-2). My waist is more defined in comparison to my small hips. I have about 5 pounds to go and the only measurement that keeps lowering at this point is my waist.
  • I'd say you would benefit from "packing" a lunch. It seems like you eat a lot of processed foods and fast food. I used to have a fast food addiction, so I understand, but I've found that cutting it out of my diet for a long time has made me realize how gross it is to me. These foods aren't nutritious and aren't the best…
  • weren't there rumors that she faked the pregnancy and had a surrogate?
  • I think it matters over time. i.e. if you hit your goal for the week you're good, regardless if that was really high one day and really low another.
  • Don't be hatin' on size 2s.... I have tiny hips, and pack my fat on my arms and tummy.
  • Pick me! I've had an account for over a year, but I didn't get into the social aspect of it until December. It seems that a lot of the friends I picked up when I started have vanished so new friends are welcome
  • ^this. and crystal light is yummy (just too much of it irritates my tummy) but then again I LOVE water, always have. and I workout a good bit so I'm pretty sure I would die if I *ONLY* had 8 cups of water a day. I don't even bother tracking it because I KNOW I get enough.

  • yep, for the most part. but I'm a coach, and a lifeguard. so wearing workout gear is appropriate. before I graduated it was all I wore to class because I was usually "on the way" to workout
  • making sure I get enough protein has always worked wonders for me. that and lots of water and a hot bath
  • Online calculators are SO wrong... just saying. How in the world can you determine someone's body composition by simply waist size, think about it.

  • I've found, that when I am at my goal weight, I look the most "curvy" because I actually get a waist and my booty looks big in comparison to the rest of my body. My chest stays fairly good sized as well. I am apple when I am overweight and certainly not "curvy." I look like a bowling ball. So to me, "overweight" =/= curvy.…
  • weight loss is calorie in, calorie out health is determined by nutrient content you're simply talking about two different things.
  • I ran my first one a year and a half ago in 27:06 in 20 degree weather. I trained about NONE for that though and now actually often do that on my daily runs now. I'm hoping to go around 24 for my next one
  • diet is what gets rid of fat, if you want to work on "toning" I would suggest lifting heavy and doing compound exercises (squats, deadlifts) those exercises use the most muscles (including your core) and therefore burn the most calories but most of all, you can use every machine in there and work out to heart's content,…
  • I don't think it really matters when you eat your meals. You could have one meal with all of your calories for the day and it wouldn't make a difference. Don't think you'd feel all that great but like I said, it doesn't matter in terms of weight loss.
  • psh beer has too many calories. shots are the way to go. duh.... I usually only drink a light beer to wash down the tequila or vodka.... and if you're like me, you ignore logging for a night on the town every once in awhile
  • I would try Insanity and up your calories. Weight lifting also helps with plateaus (maybe not the scale, but it can make dramatic changes with the body) and I agree that a "diet break" is a good idea. maybe take a week or two off of logging, or only eating maintenance. that is ALWAYS what helps my plateaus. you may gain a…
  • I disagree that a HRM would help, they aren't accurate for non exercise related activity. Typically if your heart rate isn't over 120, the burn isn't going to be accurate. If you use anything to track this, I would use a bodybugg or fitbit or something of the like that is an all day calorie burn calculator and is more…
