I just use my blender but I have heard good things about the nutri bullet. Try a sweet spinach smoothie. I hate spinach and they are yummy. I have posted it on my blog.

Have cleaned carrot sticks and celery sitting in the fridge. you just need to be munching on something to take your mind off the stress. Let me tell you I can relate to your situation. I took care of my mom who had alzheimers until she died. If you haven't been the caretaker of an Alzheimers patient you can't even begin to…

I say unless you are a Dr put the damn thing away and turn it off. I don't want to hear your way too loud conversation on the phone. I don't want to hear about your sex life last night with the latest squeeze. I also don't want to hear any of this when walking through Walmart. Cell phones piss me off and watching a group…

I agree you should talk it over with your Dr.

I have read articles about it being very dangerous. Why not just get on a good program for life and stick to it. Fad are just that fads and you end up gaining it all back anyway. Change our way of eating and change your exercise habit and the proper course will become the habit you want.:)

Diet Rite Soda does not have aspartame.

When I was 30 I weighed 275. I danced all the time. I love to dance and now I am 70. Weight has nothing to do with it. To hell with what others think. I am a very good dancer and I love to dance. My mom won many trophies ball room and swing dancing as a young girl a she never quit dancing almost to the end. She died 2008…

There is a difference in navy beans and great northern. Great northers are shaped a bit different and are larger than navy beans.

White beans similar to navy but larger. look for them in the bean section of your grocery store. I always cook mine from dry beans.

First off as I see it you only have 23--27 lbs to lose. The heavier you are the faster you will lose in the beginning. You are headed in the right direction. Remember weight loss is a marathon not a sprint. With only that small amount to lose I would say you are just about right on for weight loss. You didn't put it on…

You have to decide to do this for you. Not for your children or anyone else. This is all about you. When I was 30 I weighed 275 lbs. 5'5" tall. In other words I was a chunky little rascal. I too felt like you do. You deserve better. Your first job is to make yourself believe you deserve better and you are worth it. And you…

 I personally find that taking the goals in small steps help. Instead of looking at a goal of 120 lbs try taking it in 10 lbs increments. I have been where you are at. It can seem a bit overwhelming. right now I am looking at 42 more lbs to go but setting smaller goals helps a whole bunch. If there are other things…

Turn on the music and dance. If there is a school with pool close where you can get to it. They probably have water aerobics classes and believe me a 45 minute work out in the water is fantastic. Even if they don't have classes if they have open swim times do laps and walk in the pool is good exercise and low impact. But…

Well let me warn you that it can be addictive. I love sausage gravy and biscuits but I eat too much so just stay away from it except maybe 2-3 times a year. Hell I could eat it every morning but then I would need a fork lift to get me off my chair. LOL. So I use it strictly for a treat when we have over night company. I…

Since when don't Canadians eat biscuits and sausage gravy? I am married to a Canadian. The Fifth Wheel truck stop makes great biscuits and gravy or they did many years ago when I had my truck leased on with Frederick Transport. What are grits? Well it is a southern thing kind of thing. It was originally introduced by…

I will post more tomorrow. Time for this old girl to go to bed.

I have never roasted a hog however I have done fresh (unsmoked) whole ham I just marinate it over night in the fridge with Laury's Hawaiian and mesquite marinade. I have a small barrel grill so I can put coals in one side and place the roast on the other end and cover. Keep adding charcoal as needed. It will take about 15…

Thank you. McDonalds does have good salads and believe me I really love those double quarter pounders as much an anyone with a large fry and chocolate shake. But that isn't in my immediate future.

Your Right. Like I said balance.

Yup. I didn't say not to treat yourself with your favs once in a while I did say moderation. You can't deprive yourself completely or you will fall off the wagon so to speak. But when I see someone take in almost 5000 in sodium in a day that is not healthy. My advice is from experience and given in kindness but I see there…

Oh I don't think anyone loves bacon more than I do. And I used to start every morning with bacon, eggs and toast. All I am saying is it is better to be moderate in everything. I do allow myself bacon twice a week.

I love Paula too and have used many of her recipes. I make her Divinity Candy recipe for my favorite Son in Law every year for Christmas. Another of my favorites is Emeril Lagasse.
