Did I ask you to take my advice? I offer and if the shoe fits wear it. If it doesn't move on.

Well pilgrim you just learned something. My 71 year old builds computers so you learned something new today. Not to mention I make a great living on this computer as a virtual assistant to Realtors across the country. Old doesn't make you stupid.

Who is judging. If offering advice is judging then I am in the wrong place. But never fear I have a thick skin and this old lady ain't goin anywhere so if you don't like what I post don't read it.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Much appreciated.

My mother died in 2008 and I don't think God died and left you in charge of me so I don't answer to anyone.

This will go for both chicken leg quarters and boneless skinless chicken breasts. I quite often marinade my chicken for a couple of hours in the fridge with a little olive oil, lemon juice, seasoned salt and pepper and garlic powder. When you bbq try not putting it right over the fire and you don't need a really hot fire…

It works for me but as most here have learned it is easy to fall off once you hit your goal. I weighed 275 and took off 150 lbs when I was 30 I am now 70 and have gradually crept up to about 180 over the years until a year and a half ago when I decided to get serious again. I had hit 235 which was the highest I had been…

Actually at my age I could give a rats *kitten* less if you like what I have to say. I came here for encouragement and help and to give encouragement and help and be helpful. I am not meaning to be offensive to anyone. If you don't like what I post I could care less. I will encourage and give advice as I please. Don't like…

I don't see anything wrong with your food diary. If this is your regular fare you should do just fine. Looks pretty well rounded.

It will come. Just hang in there . I hate those plateaus but you will get past it if you just stick to it. Maybe add a little more cardio.

Since when is walking not exercise?

I don't dare go near a package of Oreos or it is game over. Put that with a large glass of milk and it gets real ugly. LOL

People have notice but in our sick politically correct world they are afraid to say anything for fear of offending you. Believe it or not. But people are afraid to compliment people anymore for fear it will be taken wrong. Go figure. You are lookin good dude.

Stir Fry veggies Celery, onion, green pepper, broccoli, mushrooms over brown rice with a little soy sauce for garnish and fried lemon garlic Flounder filet. I would have done the Flounder on the grill but I forgot to pick up charcoal starter. I also used garlic sesame sauce while cooking veggies.

Yes, Hubby and I both have to take off at least 50 lbs. I had taken off 25 lbs in the last year and a half but decided I needed a boost and Hubby had gained 60 lbs since his hip surgery and quitting smoking 3 years ago so we decided it was time. We are both motivated and are planning on taking this weight off. I have since…

If you can get to a pool say at a college or high school you might find a water aerobics class. I have Psoriatic arthritis and PAD so I can definitely relate to the let pain. Water exercise is the very best and very low impact on the extremities. Good luck and feel free to friend me for encouragement. By the way I can…

I am fortunate in that I can do 45 minutes of water aerobics every morning, not everyone can do that. But it really burns the calories. I am semi retired so that helps. I do work from home with my own business which makes my days sedentary so the aerobics helps. I also ride my bike in the park where I live. If any of you…

Try fat free half and half for the coffee. it is really good. I don't notice any difference. And this old farm girl is very fussy.

I do a smoothie just about every morning but do allow myself to indulge twice a week with 1 slice of bacon (crisp drained) one fried egg and one thin slice of homemade bread toast with butter. Lunch I eat my largest meal and then a large salad for dinner. And healthy snacks throughout the day.

Thanks everyone. My profile picture was taken when I was 235 a year and half ago. Not the most flattering but I was with some really good lookin dudes (grandsons) so who cares. LOL Glad I found this website and am looking forward to logging daily and reaching my goal. Yes it is great that Pete and I are doing this…

Bless you what a great story. Keep up the great work. I once weighed 275 and at 5'5" I was on chunky little rascal. I did have an intestinal bypass and lost 150 lbs but over the decades have put on a bundle of weight again. When I hit 235 a year and half ago I said enough is enough. I have taken off 32 lbs and want to take…

Agree completely with that. Get off the booze, drink water, and eat a well balanced meal along with exercise. Nature will give you great detox. Don't spend all the money on that detox crap.

I didn't read his profile but I saw that in a later post. I am inclined to believe others are right about he isn't being diligent in measuring his intake and it adds up quick if you don't.

You haven't said how old you are. Age can enter into the equation. As you get older you don't metabolize food the same as you did when you were 20 unfortunately. I am going to be 71 next month and I know I have to try and exercise more. But you shouldn't have to starve to lose weight. The more you weigh the more calories…

I didn't say there was anything wrong with weight lifting. I love it too. However she should add cardio workout to increase metabolism. Muscle does weigh more than ffat and if you are losing fat and adding muscle you won't show as much actual weight loss however will lose inches.
-
If you are working out what has more than likely happened is you are adding muscle which weighs more than fat. You will lose inches but not as much weight as fast. However try more cardio workout rather than weight training to get your metabolism up and running again. Walking, biking, water aerobics.
