My first guess would be water retention, next would be high sodium and third would be that you are eating more than you think, howdo you measure your food? Can you open your food diary?

My fisrt guess would be water retention, especially if you just started lifting. Your body needs to repair the muscles and uses plenty of water to do it :-) it will get used to all the new stress soon. It takes my body several weeks Also are you weighing your food?
