I try to stick to my original calorie goal and not use the exercise calories. Some days, I'm too hungry for that. I've found that using half my exercise calories is usually safe and doesn't stall my progress.

Half a banana and about a tablespoon of walnuts and nuke. Tastes like banana bread! (caution--bananas will sort of melt and will be VERY hot and hold heat for a bit. Stir and be careful.)

I totally understand. My BF sabotages me often (let's just get McDonald's or pizza) and isn't trying to lose the 100+ lbs he needs to. I'm focusing on trying to get healthy and change my lifestyle--not just my weight. Stick with it, though--I inspired my MOM to start getting more fit!! She's exercising for the first time…

That is amazing! You're doing great! And--thank you for the inspiration.

I have two: running my first 5k a little less than 2 weeks ago, and fitting into a piece of lingerie I haven't worn in a decade!!!
-
I DID IT!!!! Tonight I completed the 30DS!!!!!!!!!!! :noway: I'm planning to continue the L3 at 3x/week to maintain.

Today is my last day of the 30DS and I've gotten MORE out of it than I expected. I haven't lost as much weight as I hoped/expected, but I've lost way more inches than I ever dreamed and I can see the start of a 6-pack! It's been a really amazing journey in a short time. It wasn't always easy but I did not allow myself to…

Stick with it, CJ! It passes faster than you know!

Day 29 (L3D9).... tomorrow is my LAST workout!!!!
-
Okay, here's the deal. I did NOT do my 30DS on Sat or Sun. I have an acutally good reason and not just an excuse-- Sat I did my first 5k! And Sun I rested; after a 40 min walk I did not think I could do the 30DS. Yesterday I was back at it. 2 more days til I'm officially done!!

Agreed with most everyone else. Drop your speed by some if possible, and keep trying. I usually feel like i"m going to die by the end of my intervals but if I can tough it out I make surprising progress. That said, I've hit stalling points where I really just couldn't do it (like, I have yet to make it through Week 5).…

I'm on D26 today. I haven't missed a day yet. I have gotten stronger and I'm seeing a 6-pack forming (under layers of subcutaneous fat, but that will melt away in time). I'm so SHOCKED because I've never HAD those kinds of muscles before... seriously happy I've done this. The scale hasn't moved anywhere near as much as I…

Try alternating hands with the weights--it helps a lot. And then work your way up to using both. I only had 5 lb weights to start with too!
-
Wow. Just, wow! You did all that in 18 months??? CONGRATULATIONS!!!
-
Wow! Well done! I had thought about doing before and after pics but never got around to the "before". Thanks for sharing!

Groan.... yes... and I can barely type my arms feel like noodles... agggghhhh. I didn't get home until 9:45 PM and I STILL made myself do that. ONE WEEK to go!!!! That's right, just 7 more days for me! Tonight I made it through the horrific plank rows with leg raises--both sets--without having to go to the "beginner" mod!…

Seriously, 40 lbs is AMAZING. I haven't managed even that! You've done great! You also have to give your body time to heal after surgery and ease back into things. What you've done this year is very likely healthier in the long run. Keep it up! By the way-your surgeon did a great job :) you're healing fantastically!

Level 3 day 1 done!!!! It's tough, but I was honestly so shocked at how much of it I could do at Natalie's more advanced stage! Some things I can, and some I cannot, and I am TOTALLY okay with that. It wasn't easy, but it was nowhere near as bad as I feared! Maybe I should have a little more self-confidence!

Also doing the C25K. Will be doing non-interval cardio on "off" days once the semester ends (and I'm not spending so much time grading).
-
Me, too, nerchk. I'm kind of turning into a Jillian Anderson fan right about now. This has been amazing for me. My weight loss stalled, but my body is changing!
-
Okay, I think it's strange, but I liked level 2. I was kind of glad to change out the exercises. I love the 2nd warm-up exercises (the straight-leg-lift-touch things), the walk out push ups, and I even got SO much better at the pendulum lunges! I had to slow down to do them, but form is more important than speed (because…

I just finished level 2!!! I'm kind of afraid of tomorrow...
-
YAY!!! Congratulations! That's great! I could see some new upper arm definition at that point. Level 2 has some moves that I think are fun (but tough). Expect to feel like you're starting from square one all over again... but you'll see improvement again too! It just keeps getting better (and I am NOT an optimist).…

I'm doing C25K as well. Or trying to.
-
Thesis writing does that, Super. Been there myself. It's SO good to be done with that! Hang in there!
-
Day 17 and I'm hanging in there (it's done). Haven't missed a day yet.

I'm 34, in a long-term relationship (unmarried though), and no human kids. I did just adopt a kitten (and I had a cat or two already). I'm not super-social, but this caught my eye because I'm struggling with my 30-something identity! I feel like we're the overlooked age group!
-
Way to GO! That's awesome, Brianna!
-
I totally did! Day 13 (L2D3) is done! I'm almost halfway there... which is inconceivable. I can't believe how much change I'm already seeing! There are these weird lines on my upper arms--I think they're called muscle definition. I didn't get that in 3 months at the gym with the Nautilus-style machines!

I have 4 I think. 1-complete 30DS (just did day 13). 2-tie my low weight for the year (10 lbs to go) 3-run a mile in 10 min or less 4-complete my first 5k in 30 min or less (Dec 15th!) Two of these are more or less givens--I WILL do #1 and #4. I'm working hard towards 2 and 3.
