I've done it both ways. The only advantage to cardio first was that the weights I needed were freed up.

No kidding. When I was a powerlifter/powerlifting official we always trained to go lower than parallel and we were told to light someone if they weren't even close to parallel. We were always told to sit down or go lower with squats. Just like someone saying you don't touch your chest when you bench press.

I just started a cycle of creatine myself. Never took it before. On the days I lift I do one scoop of NO Shotgun before hitting the gym. Afterwards I do a scoop of Beta Alanine and take creatine. On the days I run I do a scoop of Beta Alanine before the run and do the creatine after.

I'm not cutting out all carbs.. Just not eating breads, trying to stay away from refined sugars, and staying away from potatoes. I'm still getting carbs from veggies and meats.. I also get carbs from my protein drinks.

My ankles used to. My problem was when I ran I'd land on my heel. After changing to Five Fingers I found that I land about the front of my foot. I had to change.

This is my plan to experiment with. Last time I didn't reintroduce anything. I moved for work and stayed in a hotel for a month and options for food were VERY limited. A man can only eat a Subway salad so many times.

The last time I done this, bout 6 days a week it was no carb. One day I allowed myself 100 carbs. I dropped weight quick. But as soon as I introduced carbs, I put it back on. I plan to do this in cycles of 12 weeks. First 12 weeks low carb for 6 days, 1 day of whatever. Week 13 I slowly reintroduce breads and potatoes.…

mariababe81don't knock'em til you try'em. I actually just bought a pair of New Balance Minimus shoes to run in which is just about the same thing except you ain't got the toes. I dig wearing them running. But I'll still pop out a few miles in the toe shoes.

I think alot of the newbies come in wanting to drop 50 lbs in a month or wanting to bulk up over night while still eating McDonald's or Pizza Hut 4 times a week. What I really enjoy is that next to the gym I'm at now, there's a Chinese buffet next door and you'll see all these people come in, hope on a treadmill for 20 minutes, go change, and leave. When I leave the gym an hour or so later they're walking out of the Chinese buffet.

I usually workout 2 days, off one day, workout 2 days and then touch and go on the weekend. I never workout on Sundays.

I wouldn't push it.. Maybe do a little 2-3 mile or 30-40 minute run.
