  • Heyas! I am about the same height and weight and I find that my body just seems to be happier when I hover around the 128-130 mark. I can get down to 125 but (aside from not really liking the way I look at that weight), it takes a ton of maintenance to stay at that weight, and I doubt that my body would tolerate 120 (it…
  • I know what you mean! I don't have kids, but I work A LOT and it is really hard to find the time to go to workout. I am also not a fan of the gym. I used to go all the time, but it is a serious time and money sink, so I have shied away from it. Now, this is going to sound silly but: all I do is walk. But when I say walk, I…
  • Oh honey, you think you did bad??? The other day I was feeling the exact same way as you and managed to justify a lunch of fried fish tacos, birthday cake for a "snack" ( I mean like a Yogi bear slice, the type where you cut a demure sliver then take the cake with you) and a Kentucky Fried Chicken combo for dinner.…
  • AWESOME! Good for you, and keep up the great work :D! /Snoopy Dances
  • I usually exercise on my cheat day, but I do not track calories(no math on cheat days!) :). I am at maintenance weight, so I need to make sure that I am not slacking off on making healthy choices, but I try to let myself have a day where I can get the larger coffee drink or have a couple beers. Some people frown on cheats…

  • I pretty much buy EVERYTHING at Trader Joes :). I will definitely try it!
  • It is possible that I always believed that being healthy was a temporary thing, something with a beginning and an end. If I started being healthy, it was a magic switch that I could turn on when I needed to slim down, then turn off when I was done (rinse, repeat). My views have really flip flopped, and I now recognize that…
  • I am about 5'7" and at my highest weight I was 145-150 and I am now about 130 (give or take). I did get down to about 125 at one point (stress etc.) but I really did not like the way that I looked and family and friends said it was a little too thin for my frame (medium). When I do gain weight, it goes straight to the old…
  • So beautiful! Amazing work!
  • I always feel like an anomaly because of my height/proportions. I am about 5'7" and I have a small waist but somewhat wide hips and backside. I hover somewhere between 128-130 and even at my skinniest (125) I would never budge below an 8 in most jeans. If it is a skirt or dress sometimes I can go lower to a six. Almost…
  • Same for me! I am almost 5'7 and at my heaviest, I was around 145 and then got down to 125 and realized that was way too thin (for me). I then bounced back up to 130 and I float between 128 and 130, which I think compliments my medium sized frame. I would definitely like to tone up a bit, but I am pretty happy with where I…
  • Awesome!

  • Yipes! Maybe you can make a show of putting large headphones on (They really don't have to be plugged into anything) so it looks like you will not be able to hear/carry on a conversation? I know that you wouldn't want any electronics near a large body of water, but even making a show of it would at least deter chatty…
  • Hugs and a huge bat on the back for getting back on the healthy horse :D! Everyone here is very supportive and I am sure that you will enjoy it. Good luck to you!
  • This happens to me a lot, too! I try and find similar dishes from other restaurants, one with the highest caloric value and the one with the lowest caloric value and just average them out. I am sure that it's not perfect, but it helps to give an idea. :)

  • Great post and very insightful! Thank you for sharing :)!
  • I love this philosophy! I try and be the same way. Don't completely deprive yourself, but understand that there are consequences for choices :).
  • I am sorry that you are so hungry! When I first started, I felt the same way :). It did not take long, however before my body and more importantly, for my mind to adjust. While I was feeling hungry, I think that my mind was blowing it out or proportion. Not only was I eating less, but I also kept thinking "I CAN'T be full,…
  • I heard great things about it, too, and finally tried it for myself a few months ago. I absolutely LOVE it! I must warn you that the plain flavor is kind of strange tasting if you are expecting the traditional "American" yogurt. It is a lot thicker (which I prefer) and almost has a sour cream taste to it. My favorite brand…
  • I am so glad that you did not let his negativity get to you! Sometimes, people can be d*cks, and it is up to you to tell yourself "Hey, you know what? I am doing this for me, not for some a-hole doctor." So, keep that positive attitude and know that you are doing a darn good job at getting healthy and fit for yourself, not…

  • I am so very proud of you! I have a friend that struggles with her eating all the time, so I know how exhausting and difficult that can be. I also know that people can be very cruel and not realize that it is equally hard for people struggling with being under weight, and it's not just over weight people that need the…

  • I always see about a 2-3 pound weight change for about a week and a half. I usually just grin and bear it. I can always predict when it is going to happen because my chocolate chip cookie craving increases three fold :).
  • I can definitely empathize. I used to do the same thing, but I would get so anxious that I wouldn't eat anything and hoard all my calories for dinner because I was so anxious about not having enough. The thing that helped me was A. Planning out my meals in advance, or at least making sure that I had options when I got home…
