Two things helped me immensely.. One was IIFYM as another poster had mentioned and the other was Eat to Perform, another helpful plan. Both have websites.

Chocolate... all day long! Scrambled egg whites with avocado or Banana pancakes haha

Both! I set a short term (30 day fitness challenge/goal), every 30 days. Sometimes I bulk, sometimes I cut, sometimes it has to do with endurance, agility, skill... It's good to change it up and keeps me going in the right direction. My long term goals include continuing my progress and ranking in Muay Thai and…

My husband and I go out for dinner every Friday night. Pretty much any restaurant you go to these days are more than happy to make substitutions and most of the entrees either have the calories/nutritional information on-line or on MFP. If you've been weighing and measuring your food for a while you should be able to…

These are all really great stories! Very inspirational!!

When I thought the item I was eating at the time was low in calories and healthy but when I looked it up I was in shock and awe to see how many calories and how much fat and sodium I was consuming in just one meal! The realization that I thought I "knew" but was clueless... I guess one could say that ignorance really is…

Oh the Amazon... totally cool!!!!!

That works!

Fruits and veggies are the BEST! I love fruit, I love both, and I eat as much as I possibly can, but I do log all of it. However, oddly enough I had lost all of my weight before I even knew MFP existed. I really didn't struggle until I started counting calories LOL! But I've been doing it for so long now... Congratulations…

Almost every morning I have scrambled egg-whites and mashed up banana with cinnamon. Tastes like eggs and banana pancakes
-
Aww these are all so awesome! It's good to thing about our goals and dreams no matter how big they seem! Keep going...

I have a great one that isn't even really mine... Last night my husband comes home and puts one of those REV snack-wraps on the counter and says; "Honey, I can't eat this crap, have you seen what's in it?" He proceeds to read me the label making note of the amount of sodium, cholesterol, fat and ingredients that were…

If you're blowing it at night, maybe you're not eating enough during the day? Try to space out your meals and snacks to a little later in the day. If it's a matter of you just splurging or eating what every one else is eating just because then it's a matter of discipline and will power. Using a smaller plate as suggested…

Are you kidding me? Don't deny yourself the glow of making accomplishments! It IS a major change and it IS a big accomplishment and congratulations! You are well on your way... I hope you are proud of yourself! Keep up the awesome work

Hi Chelsea! I so understand about the heaviness and burden associated with loss. I lost my mother three years ago and my entire life changed as a result. Throughout the ordeal I kept on exercising but limited myself to dance (only), because it was a great stress reliever and I could just free my mind and have fun for an…

Are you kidding me? I am two years from 50 years old and am getting prepped to enter a female body building competition. I've also just earned First Rank in Muay Thai and can deadlift/bench more than most guys I know! It's NEVER too late!!!!! Stick to a solid routine, eat nutritious foods to fuel your body and performance…

Way to go!!! Keep it up!!!

Happy birthday and congratulations on your amazing and inspiring achievements! You rock!

I have had a few but my biggest one to date is passing a two hour sparring and vicious stress/endurance test and earning First Rank in Muay Thai... at almost 50 years old I might add  .... oh, and deadlifting 200 LBs!

I used to use RevGear and they are excellent gloves but I tore through them pretty quickly. I also do Muay Thai and I use Venom 16 oz. I also tried the Hyabusa but I wasn't happy with those at all. Venum is the way to go IMO.

Don't feel guilty and don't punish yourself for pigging out. Start that and it might become a bad habit... Just log it, acknowledge it and move on.

Thank you. Yes... this is what I am doing.

Yeah there's nothing like it. Best workout ever both mentally and physically! I started with kickboxing over 5 years ago and worked my way into more traditional boxing and then got specific in martial arts. For Muay Thai it took 3 months and 3 stripe tests for the white belt and another 3 months and 3 stripe tests for the…

Thanks all! I'm going to keep going and dedicate myself to the art. Another three months and three more stripe tests and I can rank test for my Red belt! 6-ranks after that will be black and that test involves stuff like quarter mile sprint under a minute - 100 push ups followed by 100 pull ups... really difficult, but I…

Hey, what brand of Vegan B12 and Iron do you use? and where did you find it?
-
Currently I am taking an Omega / (non fish) oil because I am allergic to shell fish. Vega multi-V drink, L-Carnitine for muscle repair-recovery and appetite suppressant and Glutamine for the extra BCAA bump for heavy lifting and boxing. Also take white kidney bean as a carb blocker < it doesn't really "block" carbs, just…

Yes absolutely! I wake up feeling and knowing when I've dropped weight! It's a nice feeling, isn't it? Congrats on your loss!
-
Thank you so much! I hate tooting my own horn but I feel so accomplished and I feel like such a bad *kitten*! hahaha!!
-
Thanks! I mean five years ago I was almost 200 LBs and lazy, unhealthy. Now I am a buck 20 with muscle and training in serious martial arts and climbing the ranks. There's nothing I can't do physically! I never thought that at almost 50 years old I'd be here

Thanks so much! This is all really good information and makes sense to me! I did track my body fat percentage when I was gaining and the number only went up by a couple of percent so there was some muscle as well as some body fat gain. And yes, again, my logging during that time was sloppy so I am guessing that I was…
