I'm pretty sure nobody has mentioned this one yet: has anyone tried Runtastic's Orbit? Curious how it stacks with everything else. I'm a big Runtastic user. Also, for all of these, can anyone tell me if I need to have my smartphone with me while on a run or something like that? Ie. for the Orbit, do I need to have my phone…

I did Insanity last year and it was great. Combined with the right diet the results can be really good, but I don't think I'd give up my gym membership for it. I get more variety at the gym, whereas I was pretty bored by the time I was done Insanity. It's also worth knowing you'll only get out of Insanity what you put in.…

Wow! That's a great resource, I'm going to give some of their routines a try. Thanks!

I did my first T25 yesterday and really enjoyed it! It's the perfect length for me to do before work, since even if I sleep in a bit I can find 25 minutes. It was a solid workout, and my legs were feeling it later that day. Looking forward to more!

Thanks for the advice! I had hear of Jillian Michael's 30 day shred before, but not about the focus T25. Both sound like good options, but if T25 has similar intensity to Insanity, then that might be more for me!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm usually not up early enough to eat 30 minutes or more before the run, but I'm also only running about 5K right now. I think I'll go with my breakfast afterwards as long as it's not affecting me negatively during runs.

If you have the Runtastic Pro app from iTunes (I don't know if it's in the Runtastic free version), it's an option in the side menu called Story Running. I think they're $0.99 each, but a 30% discount if you buy all 4.

Just checking back in. I tried the Wings of Hope Story Running in the Runtastic App yesterday and I really loved it! I'm not much of a runner traditionally, so I'm trying to get into it so I can vary my workouts more. The story really helped give me a push to keep me moving, and was entertaining on my run as well. The…

I'm no expert, but I would probably go food 1. It seems like a far more balanced food item, but that of course would depend on what it is. Not every gram is equal, types of fat make a huge difference.

Thanks for the info everyone. I hadn't realized there was now a free one to try, I'll give it a go and see if it works for me! When the Story Running came out, I looked up the Zombies Run! app as well, but had the same questions before buying. Now I have a way to test it out!
