  • That is awesome....especially considering the fact that we are our own WORST critics! So if you think you're smokin, then get out the fire extinguisher! Thanks for the reminder.....I just looked down and flexed my feet and saw these awesome calf muscles pop out of NOWHERE! And now I'm gonna go into the restroom…
  • As you can see from the responses....one size does not fit all in figuring out what to do! I agree with many others that you are not consuming enough calories. I have been on a 7 week plateau....I upped my exercise and like you I gained weight.....so I upped my calories and nothing. happened. As of today, I THINK (HOPE) I…
  • Yes, I will be taking "after pics" in just 4 more days! Should be interesting. cmg - so it's not just ME that has noticed that if I exercise just before the shred, then go right into the shred i definitely burn more cals. I suppose it's because the muscles are already warm and the heart rate is up. Let us know how you like…
  • j - Welome to Level 3! The walking push-ups are definitely killers. I confess that I am mostly doing the modified version - but I've decided to really focus on making sure my form is correct while doing them. On levels 1 & 2, the ab exercises didn't seem that bad. And I admit that I was feeling a little cocky about that.…

  • I have 6 days left of the shred. I took before pics (bleh), and will be taking after pics too! You look GREAT!
  • Actually, I would LOVE to trade places with you.....I would be doing a happy dance right now if I'd managed to lose 1 WHOLE POUND last week. Go look at a pound of butter - you LOST THAT MUCH in just 1 week. I happen to be on a plateau that has lasted for 6 weeks now. Six whole weeks of not losing a single ounce....never…

  • Here's another great thread for you to read: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/196502-for-the-people-who-work-out-like-crazy-and-are-not-losing
  • I tried with my 8 lb weights...and there was no way I was going to survive! So I bought some 3 lb weights and am glad I did!
  • I have 6 days left. It definitely is a great workout.....I am finding muscles I didn't know EXISTED!
  • hard boiled egg, string cheese, almonds, greek yogurt, veggies with hummus (carrots, celery, jicama, green peppers), apples with some peanut butter
  • That food from restaurants or you make out of a box are typcially sky-high in sodium. Even the supposedly "healthy" ones!
  • 30 minute bike ride with my husband followed immediately with Day 24 of the shred! 6 more days to go! Day 4 at Level 3 is still very difficult....but I'm burning calories like crazy! I wonder if I'm burning more the last 2 days because I'm already warmed up from the bike ride! Thanks keggen - I hope the extra effort this…
  • Rode bikes for 65 mninutes, then came back home and popped in the shred dvd! Whew! I am ready to hit the shower!
  • stc74 - For the past 6 weeks I've been kicking around the same 3 pounds too! I've been doing the 30DS (22 days done)....but I'm taking a break today and going for a LONG bike ride with my hubby. I think the change will be good! Keep on going turtles!
  • Thanks gd & j - my little pity party is over now! Today my hubby and I are taking our bikes over to a trail for a nice long ride. I may or may not do the shred later today - depends on how the knee is feeling after a long bike ride! Taa taa for now!
  • :drinker: That is definitely an NSV worthy of a Happy Dance! Congrats!
  • I am assuming the sweetened coconut water has sugar in it (see how clever I am?) So, maybe the sugar is causing your blood sugar to go up and then crash....thus the tiredness? I make mine with plain old water, but also either add some protein to it (peanut butter, almond milk, nuts, or protein powder), or eat some protein…
  • Hmmmm.....I might try your approach. I've been on a 6 week plateau....and so far nothing has worked for me. I've tried upping my calories, zig zagging my calories. I'm on day 22 of the 30DS, and have not lost a single ounce while doing the shred. (And no, the tape measure isn't helping either!) I was forced into taking a…
  • Level 3, Day 2 is DONE! 8 more days of shredding left for me! Today I accidently banged my knee down on the corner of the coffee table! OUCH!!!! And that knees been bothering me a bit....so we'll see how it goes tomorrow. I plan on doing it, but I do not want to end up on the injured list, so I'll play it by ear. Boy - I…
  • This turtle is still plugging away! yanicka - I hope you are off your plateau. My fingers are crossed for you! Oh NO......the boys corner? :noway: Show em your ninja turtle moves....or turbo turle moves! THEY WILL BE IN AWE!!! Let us know how it goes!
  • gd - Oh yeah, the last weight training circut is a LOT of fun! I admit was pretty wimpy on those.....but that's the way it was on the first 2 levels at firs too. So, I'm sure I'll see improvements over the next 9 days. I think when I finish this I may be ready for something very different and may take up the jogging…
  • I already share this this with you gd. But the rest of you shredders - Level 3 is quite the workout! The first time through is always rather interesting, because it's all brand new. I made it through, but confess that there were a LOT of modified moves for me! I managed a few jumping lunges, but the majority were modified.…
  • Level 2 is DONE! I was getting pretty tired of that routine, so I'm excited to see what's in store at level 3 - besides the jumping lunges! I will report tomorrow and let you know what I think of the LAST AND FINAL LEVEL!!! gd - I'll be really interested to see what I burn tomorrow at Level 3 according to my HRM too!…
  • Flaxseed = good fat & good fiber. I put it in my smoothies, and oatmeal....when I remember that is!
  • gd - WOW, the difference is amazing! Thanks for posting - it's inspiring to see what CAN be accomplished in 30 days!
  • Being able to do a few REAL pushups, noticing a muscle in my calf just "pop out" when flexing my foot, shopping for clothes in smaller sizes, getting out a measuring tape and logging in smaller numbers, and cooking healthy food that tastes absolutely awesome.....just to name a few!
  • Yep - you definitely count as part of the ninja turtle gang!
