Your son won't ACCEPT a small tv? Yikes. He's 7 and has 2 TVs? I hope he spends some time outside and actually appreciates what he has. To the OP, re-iterate what you just said to us. Tell them you don't want another tv and don't want them to spend that much money on it. Tell them you want gift cards (or money) or what you…

Savannah, my 6 month old (was ~4 months here) seal point Siamese: Liam, my 3 1/2 year old lynx/blue point Siamese: I love both cats and dogs, but cats are easier and don't interfere with my running :-D Siamese are GREAT cats, a bit vocal (okay really vocal!), quite trainable - my oldest can fetch, sit on command, walk…

Panera actually has a lot of decent options and will tailor most things to you. I always get the Chopped Chicken Cobb Salad without bacon and switch the dressing for balsamic. I only 1/2 the portion of balsamic and it's 290 cals/13g fat/11g/33g protein. The sodium is a bit high (870mg) for my liking, but that's how it is…

2 weeks is not a plateau. Also, you need to eat. 1200 NET is what you need to stay above, try 1400.

Calories in vs. calories out - so yes. If you eat 3000 calories of fruit a day every day and you're maintenance calories are lower than that, you will indeed gain weight. A calorie is a calorie is a calorie when it comes to gaining. In terms of body composition and being healthy, that's a whole different story. Balance is…

Link for Garmin Repair Center where you can submit a ticket and find out more: https://my.garmin.com/rma/repair/repairLanding.htm

Contact Garmin first. They will try and walk you through some technical support, otherwise they will send you a padded envelope (I believe postage paid) with instructions to send it to them. I believe they will look at it for a minimal fee (check with them) and then give you the 411 on what's wrong with it. From there, you…

My goal was 1000 last year, got up to 1130. This year's goal is 1212, but I'll settle for less if I can stay off the injury list and keep running:heart:

I understand! I came from one of the best public school systems in the country, not just the state so seeing other school systems (and I am not a teacher and do not have children) is a major shock to me. I've also learned how much I prefer to snow over the 116 heat index days. I am a runner, so I suffer through whatever I…

Thanks! I did it for a job for a company I had worked for in the past - I had gut feelings that I shouldn't do it, but I was sick of being unemployed (for about 5ish months). Live and learn, right?

Trying to find the list that comes out every year, but in the interm I found this...not a shock to me that so many of these schools are in South Carolina (and in Charleston area). http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/neighborhoods/school-district/ratings/worst100/

I moved from Massachusetts to Mt. Pleasant (Charleston area) over the summer. I regret it every day. And am working to get the hell out of here. And SC has better school systems than NC? Damn, that's saying a lot because I am shocked at what I've heard about the schools here. New England schools are bound to be better than…

Nut oils are also very good for you, assuming you don't have an allergy. I cook with peanut oil, as well as sesame oil...both work well for chicken! And use coconut oil for baking!

Oh and I should add that I just got a new kitten a few months ago and have brand new furniture. She has caused quite a bit of damage, I scold her and spray her with water, but you know what? I also shrug it off, it's part of owning a cat. I have 2 cats, love them dearly and would NEVER cause them harm so that my house…
-
My advice: give the cat to someone more humane than you and don't get any animals that will "mess up your expensive furniture". For ****'s sake like.

Well yes. But if you don't want to see the red numbers and want to have some idea of your macro breakdowns, hiding one is a good way to "know" without knowing. Calories in vs out is really what it's all about for weight loss. It's once you start trying to build (and repair) muscle and fuel up right that the macros come…
-
Carbs used to stress me out too. I'm a distance runner, and need carbs for fueling...so I stopped tracking them. I can glance at my diary and know (by how my other macros are stacking up) about how crazy I've been with carbs. I eat mostly "good" carbs and that's really good enough for me. It's not worth the stress of it…

Ehh I used to think if you can ran you were a runner. But I think you need to be dedicated to it to really be a runner. Running every other month during a full moon doesn't qualify you. Pace doesn't matter. But a dedicated enthusiasm to the sport makes you a runner...

HOLY ****! Well done!

No, no one actually ever gets in 8 cups of water. Seriously? You make a change, you start drinking a tall glass (~16 oz) every morning with breakfast, mid-morning, lunch, mid-afternoon and with dinner. And if you're working out, you'll probably drink some during and after your workout. 8 glasses is only 64 ounces, really…

I could run a 5:50 mile in high school. So let's say 5:49 or better... I can definitely run a sub-7 mile now, I don't do mile runs or time trials ever though.

Current Job: GIS Analyst Dream Job: TBD, but wanting to move towards something fitness/health oriented and will be getting my RRCA coaching certification in the spring :-D

Honestly, it's the lesser of many evils. So if you want one, have one. One a day...fine, five a day...not fine. If you really enjoy it, then drink it. I used to be an addict, now I only have one when I really want it...usually if I have pizza (rare occasion). It's not going to kill you, but it's also (obviously) not…

So I think I'm a bit committed, or need to be committed... or both? Tried to fit as much running as I could this week (worked 10-12 hour days every day) before my forced week off running starting yesterday post-surgery. Strength training wasn't a priority I had time for after long days. Today I realized I had only done…

Honest opinion?! You look a bit fat + pregnant, particularly in the first picture. I think it's because your stomach isn't all the way round, so it cuts in a bit and looks a bit like a fat roll. Not trying to be mean, but you asked. You look pregnant in the second picture though.

Don't be fake. Just be yourself.

Hi all, I'm around...just have been busy with life and work. Major deadline at work has resulted in 10-12 hours work days for the last 2 weeks. I have my wisdom tooth extraction tomorrow and I'm not going under anesthesia (my choice) so it'll be interesting. Hopefully will avoid taking the painkillers (I don't do well on…

Mizuno Breath Thermo is the best line out there for cold weather gear. Their gloves are awesome! With that said for races, I pick up $1 throwaway gloves at expos so I can ditch 'em when I no longer need them! When I train, I can just hold onto them or drop them off at my car!
