• Friends don't let friends drink and derive. Not a math nerd, heard that in Calculus for Business.
• It sounds uber cheesey but positive self talk. Tell yourself why you want this. Tell yourself you can do this. And definitely congratulate yourself when you do things well. Right now I'm riding a wave of first accomplishments. Like running at new speeds, getting to a weight I haven't been in 5 years, and being able to do…
• Bwahahaha!!
• I'm 27, 5'1" but I started at 278 and I am just now getting to 240 - so this post really hits close to home. You look incredible! Much much younger, and I would have never guessed you to be 170. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
• Someone once shared this example and it helped me to feel better about losing *ONLY* 1 pants size. For this example, consider a healthy weight a paper towel roll and the paper towels around it layers of fat. One someone who is farther from their goal, takes off one layer, or one sheet of paper towel... it barely reduces…
• Married 5 years. Have PCOS. I have lost 40 lbs doing low carb. Trying to get preggo in the spring as well. Add me!
• It's A Girl! 16 lbs, 3 oz and have brown hair and gray eyes (good lord! Can you say ouch?) and with the Pope? That is wrong on so many levels. Very funny though. Good lunchtime laugh!
• Side effects of morbid obesity: DEATH and... arthritis and other orthopedic problems, such as lower back pain hernias heartburn adult-onset asthma gum disease high cholesterol levels gallstones high blood pressure menstrual irregularities or cessation of menstruation (amenorhhea) decreased fertility, and pregnancy…
•
I quit taking phenetermine and I gained 85 back because I didn't have to learn moderation the pill did all the work while i still ate the way I was before I took the pills.
That's key... learning moderation. Phentermine is not a diet pill, it is an appetite suppressant. If you DO learn moderation and you…
•
This is not a medical advice board.
You're exactly right! The OP was asking for opinions. Which you are free to share and so are we -- even with scrutiny if so desired.
• EXACTLY! Community Guidelines say "Posts intended to promote potentially unsafe or controversial weight loss products or procedures, including NON-MEDICALLY PRESCRIBED supplements or MLM products will be removed without warning."
• See that's the thing... if you think that phentermine is a pill that causes you to lose weight then your frame of mind is your problem. Phentermine is does not cause weight loss. Phentermine suppresses your appetite so that you can change your eating habits.
• I agree healthy eating and exercise is the way to go. But if you can consider phentermine a crutch (helping to stave off hunger until your body gets used to normal portions) and NOT a magic pill that makes you lose weight. Then, I think phentermine, when prescribed by your doctor can be a suitable avenue for those who are…
• As someone already has... you will get flamed for talking about Phentermine on here. Even when it is medically prescribed people have their opinions. I have lost 41 pounds to date since October 1st. I don't go to a gym, but I do Zumba twice a week, walk 3 days a week (just starting C25K) and do a bike ride on the weekends.…
• If you calculate how much exercise you need to do before going out to the gym/walk/run/bike etc, in order to bring yourself to your calorie goal.
• Finished W1D1 tonight. Had to fight the demons in my head but I made it through the last run! I can see what a PP said about maintaining a slower pace. I was definitely huffing and puffing but I did it! I'm 245lbs and 5'1'' -- If this body can do it... anyone can!
• I girl named April May June
• I have PCOS, which comes with Insulin Resistance.. i.e. pre-diabetic. Going low carb has been the only way I have successfully lost weight. Why mess with something that is FINALLY working? (For me anyways...)
• I have on several occasions, waited inside or outside Best Buy or Walmart for up to 8 hours to score good deals. Part of doing it, is the adventure. Obviously you are losing your time, but we have always got what we went for and saved lots of $$$....which brings me to the most important point. Only go and 'fight' (never…
• I have a co-worker who reads the end of a book to see if she likes the way it ends. If she doesn't like the ending she won't read it. Same with movies... she looks online for the endings. SO weird.
• There's a ice cream shop near me called D'Lites Emporium. The ice cream is Low calorie, low sugar, low carb, and low fat. Obviously, it's not rich and creamy but I really enjoy it and have had it for so long now I don't miss the 'real' stuff. They make different flavors everyday. So far my fav is Chocolate Pudding and…
• When my husband and I were first dating, we were spending the night at a friends. After falling asleep, some people we didn't know...friends of friends, had come in and out. They stole his duct tape wallet off the counter. He was pretty upset. It had pockets for debits cards and everything!
• Thanks everyone! Looks like a lot of teachers out their are taking the summer to focus on us! I totally want to make myself lesson plans for food and workouts! I'm a dork! I will be an uber awesome MFP friend this summer. No guarantees for the fall though. Last day of school tomorrow then just packing the rest of the week.…
• You highlight one of my problems. It's sooo hard to workout when you get home wiped out from a day in the classroom. I would workout in the morning, but I am not a morning person!
• Capitalization is important. It's the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse. :-D
• This is mouth watering! Yum!
• I loooove chocolate. When starting out I would limit myself to buying one chocolate item a week, now I have several go-to items that I can fit in that curb my chocolate cravings. Light Chocolate Soy Milk (90 calories per cup) Stonyfield Organic Chocolate Frozen Yogurt (100 calories per 1/2 cup) Stonyfield Chocolate…
