Don't sweat it. Water comes off and goes back on quick. Stick to what you're doing and it'll come off. Don't try to starve yourself...keep track of your macros and get some exercise and you'll be fine. Feel free to add me...we can all use the extra support to help achieve our goals!

^^^^ This. If you look on the StrongLifts site (http://stronglifts.com/) there is advice there for warming up as well.

I think I'm nice. :-) But I'm on here pretty regularly supporting my MFP peeps. Anyone can feel free to add me! Good luck in your journey!

This is a fantastic post. Thank you for sharing. My son is 10 and wants to lift, the problem is that I don't know what to have him do. What are you doing with your kids? What does their routine look like? Thanks again for this!

I just started today except I'm 5'10" and 339#. My goal is to get really strong and a side effect will be losing weight and toning. I looked at what MFP suggested for calories and then took quite a bit off b/c I really need to lose the weight so I'm at 1800 calories. You sound like you're right where you need to be and the…

I have a Polar H7 that is bluetooth enabled. It connects to the Polar Fitness app on my phone and that's how I track my heart rate. It also stores history so you can go back and look at progress. You can buy it at Amazon for much less than from Polar.

Excellent progress!! Great job! I just started 5x5 today. My form for squats is terrible. I can't seem to get myself to stay flat-footed. I think I'm going to ditch my sneakers and just do it barefoot. I think part of my problem is that I'm pretty overweight so I think gravity might just be working against me. :-) My legs…

I agree with everyone's posts. A personal trainer for a few sessions will get you straightened out. There are also really great resources on bodybulding.com and jefit.com. JeFit also has an app so you can track what you're up to. (which I highly recommend) Keep at it, you'll get there!

I"m 39 and have 150# that I need to lose. It's nice to have other people do it with you for motivation and support. Feel free to add me if you'd like.

How hungry have you been while doing this? Any tips, hints, tricks to making sure that someone doesn't give up b/c they're hungry?

I'm reading about this as well. I wish I'd discovered it in January. :-) It seems like it is a great way to boost self esteem and just get things rolling. Good luck and Janie Gross, great job!

The FT7 is pretty awesome or you can just buy the bluetooth aware strap and use it with a GPS program on your phone. Amazon sells it for a lot less than the Polar website does.

Per this site: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/calorie-intake-to-lose-weight.php "If you want to lose fat, a useful guideline for lowering your calorie intake is to reduce your calories by at least 500, but not more than 1000 below your maintenance level. For people with only a small…
